Title: Youtube trouble
Post by: Rico on April 07, 2009, 03:48:22 PM
Well, it seems Youtube has didn't like the little clip I put up from Robot Chicken going to the Star Trek Experience and decided to delete my whole account!  The clip was only like 1-2 minutes and they could have just deleted the clip.  Now, I understand the whole copyright thing and all but haven't we gotten past this?  I mean this is advertising for these guys!  Besides the fact that I had that clip up for months and there are other Robot Chicken clips still up on Youtube.

Anyway, so some of my old posted Youtube links of things I have put up may no longer function.  I signed up for a new account today with the user name of treksf.  And got a few things back up.  But no more Robot Chicken posts for me!  sigh,....    :'(

I'm beginning to hate youtube. In the UK we have lost quite a few music video's and stuff like that. And now they just delete accounts, as to quote heroes, 'REBEL'

I'm looking into a good alternative for the stuff they might have issue with on Youtube.  Both www.dailymotion.com (//http://) or www.metacafe.com (//http://) might be good alternatives for other videos that Youtube doesn't seem to care for now.

Youtube's quality continues to be subpar, they pull videos (even as innocent as yours) as though they would be killed if associated with them.  I've been rather unimpressed with youtube and rarely go there unless I have no choice.  www.wegame.com (//http://) is my site of choice for Machinima and other video game stuff.  For everything else, dailymotion does alright.

Its a real pity indeed...
