Title: My Dad
Post by: moyer777 on March 26, 2009, 12:10:55 PM
Hey everybody.  They think my dad had a heart attack this morning.  So please think good thoughts, send prayers his way.  His name is Ron, he's a great guy.  I am sick right now so I can't visit him except on the phone.  But right now I can't get into the ER.

I'll let you know what's going on.  But you guys are like family to me, so please keep my dad in your prayers and thoughts.  THanks.

Update on my Dad- He had a blockage, he is in having and angioplasty as we speak.  We won't know the extent of the damage yet.  Thanks for praying.. keep it up!

Thank you everybody.  Mom is pretty scared, but they are checking to see what is going on.  He has had a couple of heart attacks years ago-  and recovered.  Now, with the new pace maker they thought all was going great, he was feeling awesome.  Now they think that his artery is pretty badly clogged.  If the angioplasty works, things should be ok, if it doesn't then more extreme measures will have to take place.

Man, no fun.  My brother in law is with them at the hospital and my sister is heading that way.  I would have already been there if I wasn't contagious.  FRUSTRATING!  But I can get many people praying and thinking good things towards him.  That is good too.

Thanks again.  I really appreciate my TSF family! :)

Ok, update:  Dad is out of surgery- three blockages in his main artery- three stints put in and no damage to his heart.  Thanks for praying.  He goes home tomorrow.  wow.

Glad he'll be home soon Rick. My dad has had heart complications in the past as well. It's a scary thing.

Good news! And a reminder......a healthy lifestyle is a CHOICE not a chore. Make it.

yep, it's a good choice too.   He really has made some BIG changes.  So I was kind of surprised by it.  Mom and dad both eat very healthy and exercise--  but years and years they didn't.  So I guess it does catch up with you.  Crazy.   This is the same artery that he had problems with 15 years ago.

Glad to hear that your Dad will be alright. I can only believe how much stress and worry in your house today, and not to even be able to go and be there must have made it unbearable. All the best to your Dad Rick, and my thoughts and prayers with him and your family

Yes, modern medicine is great!  I would be dead right now if it wasn't for it!  Had my appendix burst when I was 11.  The things they can do now are so cool.  Dad was home in a day!  AMAZING!

Hey Rick i too had to have an emergency apendix operation when i was 11. Rushed to hospital and straight into the theatre. had a lovely nurse who i quite fancied. And of course being an 11 year old i went a bit red in the cheeks and then threw up over her. not a great pulling technique i grant you.

I was about a half hour away from croaking over.  They thought I had the flu.  Then after I started doubling over, they took me back to the emergency room only to find I was dying!  So, emergency surgery and a VERY traumatic experience 11 days in the hospital.  I got a needle phobia, don't like blood and had a problem with sleep walking for about five years after that.  Go figure!  They wheeled me into the operating room so fast my head swam!  :)  But hey, what an experience.  It will make for a good story on Take Him With You. :)
