After suggesting to Rick that he use Jenny (867-5309) for his Seven Of Nine song, I started hearing a few other songs with my name in it. Yes...I go by "Jenny" and "Jennifer" too. David calls me "Jen" as does my dad. My friends from high school call me "Jennifer", but other than that most everyone else, including Angela, calls me "Jenny". Soooo...any way, I began to wonder how many songs have my name in it. I only knew of three: the one I suggested to Rick, Whiskey In the Jar which is an Irish pub song that Metallica redid and Jenny Says by Cowboy Mouth.
I found a huge list of songs. Thought it would be fun if members posted their 'name songs' here too. I'm not sure how many people could actually do that but it would be a fun game we could add to over time.
Here's the list of "Jenny Songs" I've found and a few youtube clips.

I'm making it my mission to find out. ;)
Uno momento por favor....
Okay...there are a lot of songs with your name in it, Dorian. ;) Do a search in the iTunes library.
Hmmm Meds is a hard one LOL
There are no songs with "Simon" in them? ;)
*faints at the use of his name* ;)
I found a song called "Kasey's Song" by a singer named Autumn. It's kind of catchy... but I may be a little biased. :P

I don't think she's local. I can't find a lot of info on her, but I'm sure she has biography somewhere.
Found plenty for my name, "Daniel" being my actual name. That's probably to be expected, common name like mine.

Yeah, my name's more common with the people actually singing the song. And when I say "common," I mean "two"--Kasey Chambers and the ever popular KC and the Sunshine Band.
But when I hear Daniel, I think of Elton John.

I have such a trouble hearing my name in the song though. Makes me feel real strange. Don't really know why. Might be because I always go to full alertness every time I hear my name said.

I think I will this weekend. Expect a different and very special, "Treks in Sci-Fi!" :)
I think we should have a barmy chaotic podcast this weekend Rico. A real let your hair down show.

Its Jason Downs. White Boy with a Feather in his hair.
Thanks Jen, never thought of iTunes, so obvious it was staring me in the face! I am glad that there are songs with my name in, admittedly by bands I have never heard of, but that's not the point!

I'll see what I can do on that. Expect a new Attic of my Mind sometime soon too - with even more "letting of my hair down." Hehe!
I had to look up barmy.
Quote
barm·y (bärm)
adj. barm·i·er, barm·i·est
1. Full of barm; foamy.
2. Eccentric; daft.
EDIT: I look forward to a new attic episode. I sense some venting on the horizon.
I don't know too many songs with Chris or christopher in the title. maybe two at best.
There are plenty of songs with my name in it, as long as your not actually looking for my name. (Time for example)

Come on... you can do it.
Well, I knew only one song with my name in it and it's explicit. Bad luck. Didn't find much more, many Katrina (city-sinking hurricane, do not like) but few Katrin. :(
But I found something that rose my geeky spirit: a spectometer with the acronym KATRIN (KArlsruhe TRItium Neutrino experiment). No idea what it really does, the site is filled with technobabble, but it's shiny, big and scify looking. I love it. :D
Traveled 9000 km around Europe to reach a point only 400 km linear distance from the place it was manufactured. And its destination point Karlsruhe isn't that far from the place I used to live.

So thanks for the inspiration Jen, without you I might have never found out! :)
LOL...glad I could help Katrin! ;)
That's pretty cool!
