Had a really good time doing this show. Lots of great listener contributions and I like how it all came together. A special thanks to those that took time to send in a comment or contribution.

I'm looking forward to listening to the entire show Rico!
Here are the lyrics to the song for this week.
It's called
Shut up and let's just go (to the new Star Trek Movie)
To the tune of the Ting Ting's (Shut up and let me go)
Shut up and let's just go
it's an Abram's film you know
For a new take on the old space ships
Now shut up and let's just go
It's a star trek mass machine
I bet he changed the uniforms
Now, not so cheesily, the fans go easily
Gone is Shat It's us that ought to be
bout the spock It's not attainable
this time out it's not so cranial
I ain't steaming
I ain't taking this
I ain't steaming
I ain't taking this
I ain't steaming
I ain't taking this
Shut up and let's just go
Hey
Shut up and lets just go
To the movie, just so you know
I don't care what shape the nacells are
Now shut up and lets just go
Sylar can be the new spock
And I like the new kirk really a lot
Oh so critically you are ditsing me
Gone is Koenig in the Trek Movie
The bridge is bright, it's not affordable
I want something unignorable
I ain't steaming
I ain't taking this
I ain't steaming
I ain't taking this
I ain't steaming
I ain't taking this
Shut up and let's just go
Hey
Oh Kirk, Enterprise, Ship
Hey!
Shut up and lets just go
Quit trying to make it so
until you see the new release
Hey shutup and lets just go!
Hey!

Excellent podcast! Thanks for the trivia about Brian Blessed. He was Vultan is Flash Gordon and Mentor from the planet Psychon in Spacee:1999. He is one my favorite British actors.
Downloading now. I have to admit, I'm surprised at the positive words I've heard on the forum about this film.. it's probably my second least favorite Trek Movie (right after The Final Frontier). But like pizza; even bad Trek is still good. I look forward to hearing my fellow forum members' take on the film. Who knows; I might even learn to appreciate the movie more. :)
Fantastic episode Rico, thanks. I just have to say that I really enjoy Insurrection every viewing. The acting, the story, the special effects are all spot on. As yourself and the others on the podcast say, the music is outstanding, the opening credits music just adds so much to the overall atmosphere. Jerry Goldsmith - what a legend.
Thanks again, a great listen.
OK; my eyes have been opened. This film deserves another look. Some cool character development moments, humor, cool effects, and some important themes (following one's conscience vs. following orders, staying young at heart & living life).
Great podcast!

Great podcast!
I wish I had sent in some comments for the PodCast. It's a very good movie and the criticism that it's like a long TNG episode are just, but that doesn't make it bad.

Give it another chance. Doctor's orders. :)
Glad everyone is enjoying the cast. It's an under appreciated movie I think.
Great show. I'm glad I wasn't the only one to think this movie has gotten a bit of a bad wrap. Great contributions everyone and great song Rick!
I wanted to mention the music as well. A lot of the more recent Trek music has been very, very good. This one and First Contact are some of my favorites because they have very distinct overall themes and as Rick said, a lot of dynamic range. I also want to throw in some music from Enterprise with "Archer's Theme" which gets reused in different instances and in different versions throughout the series.
Not sure what it is but Trek music in the last 10 years has really gotten quite great, IMO.
As usual a fantastic podcast Rico.
I wish I had gotten a comment in as nobody mentioned my favorite part of the movie! I'm talking about the clean shaven Riker comparing the smoothness of his face to "an android's backside" and Data's reaction! Hilarious.
I agree with the comments on the music in this film as well. It is exceptional.
And Rick, I know you are a rocker at heart but boy can you do rap / hip-hop! I think this calls for more of the genre please!
Well done guys.
Great episode. I have to admit it's not my favorite movie, but you guys are right... so what if it's one big long TNG episode. TNG ROCKS. :D
I think the music was great and the scenes with crazy Data were awesome. I also enjoyed the flirting between Troi and Riker. Good movie... I like it better than Nemesis but not as much as First Contact which is my all time favorite Star Trek Movie.
Great parody Rick. I would be interested to know if you get feedback from those who don't like what they see so far with regards to the new movie. :)
Thanks everyone for the comments on the song.
Rico- finally got the whole show listened too. EXCELLENT! Your review was even heart warming. What a great movie, and what fun. The intro was cool, Vartok's stuff was great, I loved hearing other folks comments on the movie, and thank you so much for playing my promo for take him with you. You rock.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to next week's cast already! Now, I'm looking for a song that rhymes with
"Seven of Nine" :)
An excellent show. I also have no problem with Insurrection as a film. I enjoyed it when it came our and on every watch since.
The one thing I've always wondered is how Riker and the crew would have coped of they'd had to fire on another starfleet ship rather than a Sona ship to make their escape.
My favourite line of the film: "...and we're fresh out of warp cores" (or similar).

"867-5309/Jenny" Yes, people use to sing that to me in school. But you could use the number part for Seven of 9!

That is fantastic, I'm on it!
THANK YOU!
First Contact gave us the chance to see the origins of how the first contact was made, and gives us a little insight into what history does to....change the things might not always be....appropriate to remember...
The music score was fantastic, along with the movie itself. And as far as it being a long Trek episode, isn't that what we really linkd of look for when it comes to the movies?
