Title: Futurama direct to DVD movies
Post by: Ktrek on February 02, 2009, 09:05:05 PM
I have not seen anyone bring the four Futurama movies up for discussion and I was curious if anyone has bought them and what is your reaction to them? I own the four volumes of the TV series but for some reason have not purchased any of these yet. The titles are as follows:

Bender's Big Score
The Beast with a Billion Backs
Bender's Game
Into the Wild Green Yonder

So, if you have rented or purchased these I'd be interested in ratings and reviews of each. Also, does anyone know if they will be releasing a box set of all four movies? And does anyone know if sales have been good enough to possibly see more Futurama movies?

Kevin

I keep meaning to pick them up (I love Futurama and have all the other DVDs). Haven't gotten around to these yet so I'm also interested in hearing what people think.

Saw Bender's big score and it was funny and truly Bender at his best/worst.

I've got them all (except for 'Into the Wild Green Yonder' as I don't think it's out yet), I love Futurama but I don't think the long format works very well for them. The episodes are good but more average than outstanding, as season episodes they'd be fine but as one-off's they aren't that spectacular.

Yea I didn't know when I posted this that the 4th one doesn't come out until next Tuesday. I guess I haven't purchased them because even on release date I thought the price was a little bit high. Especially for animated. I suppose if I just hold out long enough they will be in the bargain bins.
