Only saw one or two episodes from the early seasons on PBS.

Those two and a half hours were a blast, guys. And I still think it's amazing that Kenny found a way to cut the cast down to an hour and forty minutes. :)

Just finished listening to this podcast. Being a long time Dr Who fan I thought it was brilliant. A job well done. Thank you for the effort that went into it.
All of you are to be complimented for a great show! I enjoyed your format and all the cool clips. The history was excellent, and the discussion was very informative and fun. You all sounded personal, but professional and I enjoyed the cast so much! I have never been a Dr. Who fan, and you answered my questions about why there were so many Dr.s. Now I am interested. Thanks to your delightful podcast! WAY TO GO! Perhaps you should release the unheard footage on a special little download?

Wow what kind compliments. I had a great time with Kenny & KC and i couldn't believe how time ( ;-) ) flew by. I too was amazed how Kenny edited the audio down to time released. Glad you enjoyed it and thanks Rico for letting us bring our Tardis into your podcast.

Yes, it worked very well and I learnt something too.
I'd never realized that Eccleston was only ever contracted for a year - I'd always believed the story that they'd had to rewrite the end of the final story to cope with the departure.
FWIW Paul Cornell is a friend of a friend of mine so I probably met him a couple of times back when we were at school and he and my friend were wannabe Doctor Who writers. Looks like Paul made it and my friend didn't.
AWESOME job Kenny, KC and Meds!! I have to watch the new Who. I watched some of the late '70's and early '80's shows but because they were shot on video, I thought hey looked too cheap and never got into it. You guys really got my interest going! Check out the "What song.." thread, I posted a remake for the video of "Dr. Who" by KLF/The Timelords dance mix from the early '90's based on Gary Glitters old '70's riff. :)

One tiny ickle issue was the volume of Meds and KC was quite quiet compared to Kenny, I listen to the podcast walking to and from work and had to keep flicking the volume control to make sure I didn't miss any good stuff. Just something to be aware of on any future shows :Bow:

Thanks.. and yes I knew about the volume issue.. that's the price you pay for having Meds in the UK, KC in Texas and me in California. Skype still has it's issues. Since I was the one recording my voice is always louder. I could have gone frame by frame and boosted both Meds and KC's voice but editing the podcast would have taken a year to finish.
I'm not sure what program you edit in Kenny, but there should be some kind of Normalize function to balance the overall volume. You can also just ask at the start for those that are low to adjust their audio in Skype and bump up their mic volume. Just tell them to look under the settings, then audio area in Skype. Distance isn't really a factor. It's audio settings and equipment used.

Thanks for that Rico.. but when we recorded the skype call everything sounded good. And I use Avid to edit the podcast but run it through Audacity to normalize first.

Sounding fine is not the same thing as actual audio levels. Because you obviously don't hear your own voice - you only hear the others as you record. The helpful thing is to have some type of display as you record. I think you use Pamela to do this. I always had issues using that and eventually went to the method I use now - two PC's or a PC and a laptop. Then when I record in Audacity the exact levels are shown as various people speak - and adjust if needed.

I love Donna, but I actually have an acquaintance who strongly dislikes Donna Noble, and she's as American as can be. But she also shares my disdain for Martha Jones, so it evens out. ;)

Me personally I don't like her style of comedy and can't watch her shows. A lot of what I didn't like "brash, loud in your face" was in Donna and it grated on my nerves. Partly I kept expecting her to drop in one of her annoying catch phrases any second.
I'll concede she had some good episodes (the library and the last couple of S4) but I couldn't wait to see her go and actually felt cheated that she didn't die in true departing companion style, the prospect of a potential return is a bit worrying.
Perhaps I'm getting old and just don't get her (you can all rush in now and say that's nonsense I'm still young) :roflmao

Just some suggestions Kenny. And the second machine can be some old piece of junk, a laptop, anything. Just as long as you can connect to the internet on it. Many computer shows sell off old equipment for $50 or less. Pretty affordable.
So if you've got a laptop and a main computer like i have how do you record a better sound via skype. I want to do a skype podcast sooner or later and would like a better sound.

As I think I've said before. I don't particularly like Catherine Tate, but Donna grew on me as the series went on, to the point that I was sorry to see her go. I think it simply took time for me preconceptions (and the impact of the Runaway Bride) to die.
Actually, I got the impression Meds wasn't gagged too much - I thought even our expert admitted to warming to the character at the end.
