Post by: Rico on January 28, 2009, 02:18:14 PM
Just put up Ready Room # 44 - the one year anniversary show that we did last weekend via Skype.  It was a lot of fun and I think everyone will get a kick out of this.  Thanks to everyone involved.

:) Cool; I've been looking forward to checking this out.  I wish I could have been there.   :(

Got called in to work for an hour which turned into 9.  Funny how that happens.  One of these days I'm gonna have to learn to just say "NO."

Guys,

just listened to the podcast. It sounded like so much fun! I am really looking forward to making my humble contribution to the RPG. I think Ensign Garriss may be a little bit of a handful! I am really liking where season 9 is going to based on the ideas you mentioned here.

BTW who named the rats? Sounds like this may have been a little in-joke from somebody in the UK...   :roflmao

I had a great time! The chat came out really well and I'm actually pretty shocked how well I come through, didn't know the mic on my Plantronics headset was any good.

Great show everyone! I am thrilled that Ensign Dunn racked up so many awards! As I mentioned back when I created him, he's me 20 years ago if I had joined Starfleet. Everyone who has written him since have managed to keep him exactly the way I initially saw his character. Special kudos to Meds, who really does some great stuff with the character.
Also, I haven't heard so many bad puns on my last name since grade school, so thanks to Rick! I laughed out loud!
And finally I am honored to have written the retaking of Engineering thread with Meds and Wraith. That was a blast to write and we were in such a bloodlust, we were ready to dispatch half the crew of the Arabella until Kenny and Jen calmed us down!

It is very encouraging to win most improved writer, as this is not one of my strong points, thanks all

It was a great listen. Sorry I was at the moter-in-laws for the recording. I would have enjoyed evesdropping (if not actually joining in!).

Just one thing - I can't hear an awful lot of difference in accents between Joe and anyone else on there (except for Meds of course!). I was waiting for someone to have a go at the British.

At the end of the day there isn't a huge difference between our accents. It was more of a joke cause I don't hear it either and I brought it up in the thread for the Earth 2 podcast since Jeff is also Canadian.

We were just messing around. :)

The funny thing is aside from French Canadians from Quebec and some people from the east coast (though not all), it's hard to tell where people are from just by their accents, especially if they are from any major cities. Canada doesn't really have strong regional accents.

Then again, I'd never think Jen was from Texas. My mother in law grew up in Virginia and her accent only comes out when we go visit my wife's grandfather in Alabama.
