Figured there are some pet people on the forum.  It was a great movie.  :)

I enjoyed it. My family had to see it, my mother being a vet and having read the book.

There were a LOT of kids/parents in the crowd and you could hear them wimpering at the end.  Everyone wiping their eyes as we were leaving the theatre.  "At the Movies" host said he hugged a complete stranger !!  I thought I could prepare myself but it was hard.

An ironic twist of fate in my family, we just saw the movie a few days back like I had said and today we (we being my mother the vet) discovered our big dog probably doesn't have long to live due to a large cancer on her neck. We have tagged her stupid, retarded, horrible, annoying, worst dog ever in the time we've had her, but now that we know she is soon to go we are all feeling a senses of love and oversight of all her flaws. Now I feel a little more "Marley and Me" then ever, suppose in my case "Ruby and Me".

My wife read the book and had tears in her eyes at the end of it and she so wants to go and see the film. Think she's going to go with her mum now, save me sitting there pretending i've got something in my eye ;) Think it comes out in January here.

My older son saw it yesterday with his girlfriend and liked it but did say it was hard later in the film.  Frankly, I'm not sure I can handle it.  I still miss Cheyenne a lot.  But if Lynn wants to go then I'll go with her for support.

My wife wants to see this one as well and it's her turn to pick the movie. I guess that means I'm going to see it! Seems like it'll be a nice movie.

Bring tissue and sit in the back! ;)
It's amazing the empathy many pet owners have for their pets. Pets give us unconditional love with no expectations or limitations. They don't judge us, they simply love us and I think this movie does a great job showing that relationship.
