thanks Rico.. I hope you listened to the end of it. :)
Just listening now....
Downloading; looking forward to listening to this! :)
Not sure I'm ready for this - I hate the sound of my own voice!
All set up to listen on my way to work...
Thanks for the stuff at the end. That was all very nice! :)
Great show (despite the major disadvantage of being Jen-less!). Great readings. Great discussion.
To clarify I'm not actually French Canadian, I'm an "Anglophone" who speaks french! It's complicated...
Vartok, AMAZING mashup at the end!
I've listened to it now and, actually, my bit wasn't as bad as I thought it might be. I don't remember anyone playing backing music at me while I was recording though :)
Another enjoyable episode (even though your co-presenter was at Jenfest), thanks guys.
So what do I take from this edition of the Ready Room:
1. Rick thinks I didn't attempt an English accent. Actually, he's right, I didn't. Honestly, I don't have an accent - it's everyone else that has accents!
2. Kenny's glad that I don't write for the RPG
This is what he said: "What's great is that....he doesn't participate in the RPG, he just listens to it"
Oh and I need to add these, don't I ;) :D
(and yes, it was me who commented on the benefit of different readers)
it was a fun show. I do think that you (Mike) should try and United States accent. From what I hear, they aren't as hard to do as yours! :)
Oh trust me an American accent is a lot harder to do than an English one. here is the reason. English accents are regional but can be simplified just by speaking slowly and opening your mouth wider so the words end up becoming the focus. You can get aways with doing a thesp style accent (bit like Patrick Stewart). American accents are incredibly hard to do. Because of the largeness of the country the accents are more defined. New York is totally different to California, Chicago is different from say Texas, in fact the Texan accent is different in the whole state. Its hard to change the vocal movement when doing the US voice. Thats why Hugh Laurie does such a fantastic in House. I've tried to do your accent many times when filming and i even tried doing a New York voice for recording Dunns lines in the RPG but it just sounded terrible.
Anyway fantastic podcast, good to hear you Mike, look forward to hearing you again.
Thanks for the comments regarding the bridge staffs point of view. Credit goes to Jen there as i asked her if i could help with any writing as my character is now out of action and Jen said well I'd love some perspectives from the bridge staff so we did some back and forth conversations and we managed to come up with some rough ideas.
Brilliant show guys, cool mash up Vartok and Rick, keep up with the accent. Cheerio.
My wife always says my Dr. Phil impression is horrible.

Ha Ha Ha.. This is how words can be twisted :) You pull that comment out of content. I was happy to hear from a fan of the rpg and not a writer of the rpg.. I never said I was happy you are not participating in the rpg.. but now that you mention it... :)

You're quite right, I knew exactly what you meant and I'm pleased you're happy that I comment. I hope you noticed the smiley's on the end of my remarks this time though.
I like playing with wods :)
(You may not get much out of me this week - I can't beathe without coughing today so long periods of speech i.e. more than 10s, are completely beyond me)
Great podcast, and great readings! And it was cool to get feedback from a follower of the story-- Thanks Feathers! :)
