Well gang, I leave this morning for Clearwater, Florida where on Saturday I will be competing in the Ironman 70.3 World Championship race. This is a half Ironman distance race series, 1.2 mile swim, 56 mile bike, 13.1 mile run which add up to 70.3 miles total, which you qualify for at races during the season. Last year as many of you know, I competed at the Ironman World Championships in Kona, Hawaii and this year decided to try half distance for fun and a break from the full. The race is Saturday morning. I'll be checking in from Florida and will keep you guys updated on my adventure. :)
Amazing Bryan. Have a blast!
You truly are Ironman.
Good luck Bryan! I'm just envious of your ability to travel to all these places all the time.
My job has a lot of time flexibilty as I can work remotely from wherever I am. Being 100% commission based compensation means I call my own shots! My firm is actually very supportive of my racing, they even sponsored me last year. :)
Good luck, and have fun, man! I look forward to hearing your report on the event. :)
Yeah good luck Bryan, have a blast mate.
You Rock Bryan... have a great time.
Good luck, win big, work hard. I hope you do great.
Good Luck
Good Luck in the Iron man race Bryan
you will do awesome, I just know it!
Thanks everybody! It's Thursday morning. The weather is great, the beach is beautiful, white sand, and the water a comfy 70 degrees. I sawm the entire 1.2 mile course in my wet suit, felt smooth and good. Picked up my bike and race packet and I am now back at the hotel putting my bike together with my race wheels. I'm going to do a short hour ride later as well as driving he entire 56 mile bike course and run course so I know what to expect. 1400 athletes from around the world are ere, the best of the best! The atmosphere is awesome! More later!

Say a prayer for me Saturday morning, Rick. :)
Great stuff - keep going and keep us informed!
I'll raise a pint to you Bryan, you know i'll be thinking of ya ;)
Well gang, it's the eve before the race and I am back in the hotel relaxing, having a beer as it helps me relax. :) I had a great day today. Funny story, I was the first athlete to arrive at bike and gear check in. As I arrived, all these volunteers were standing around waiting to assist the competitors. They looked at me and I yelled,"Well, at least I will be first at something this weekend!" They all cheered and laughed, it was great!
Now I get some sleep, wake up around 4:30am, get to the start and do what I train to do. There's something very special standing on a beautiful beach at dawn surrounded by the nervous tension and anticipation of all the people around you, anxious to start, afraid of what might come. 1600 athletes in total. The race should take me about 4:15. I start at 7:40am. When the pain and fatigue start to set in on the last 10K of the run, I will think of you all and smile and the pain will be diminished and only my thoughts of you all will remain. :)
I'm back! I went 4:18:34, good for 10th in my age group of men 40-44. That's what I was hoping for as it puts me in the top 10 in the world in my AG. Pretty sweet! I am completely shattered right now, very sunburned, and very happy. Thanks again for all the well wishes! :cheers
WOW That's fantastic Bryan... great job :cheers
Great job man; congratulations! Time for a cold one and some rest!
