Title: World of Warcraft Screenshots
Post by: Rico on October 16, 2008, 05:08:52 PM
Thought I would start a new thread for us to post some of our WoW screenshots.  Show folks how beautiful this game is.  Here's one of my Warlock, Jyx on her fire horse.  Zone is U'goro Crater.  Pretty place.

We're breaking him people!

I'll grab a few nice new ones on my undead priest in Outland this weekend.

Here's one of me approaching the Dark Portal (which gives you access to a new section of the game once you get high enough).

Last one for now...this one has a bit of a sad story attached.

A little over a year ago, one of our guild mates passed away. It was quite a shock to us all so we did all that we could really do as a group: We went to a place called The Shrine of the Fallen Warrior and had a kind of in-game Memorial. It was a very moving experience. This was closer to the beginning and even more people showed up in time. I'm the kneeling Orc in the middle with no name over his head (this is before I made my priest).

Here is the Auction House in Orgrimmar littered with skeletons after a big zombie invasion yesterday. Some people are annoyed by this event but I'm loving it!
Title: Re: World of Warcraft Screenshots
Post by: Rico on October 27, 2008, 06:32:23 AM
Yeah - this is part of the Halloween event and has been going on for a few days now.  It's kind of fun at first, but when you get zombied and die for about the 100th time it becomes less fun.  ;)
Title: Re: World of Warcraft Screenshots
Post by: billybob476 on October 27, 2008, 06:45:15 AM
I agree and I won't say I was never a little annoyed.

However, I think that's kid of the point. It's a zombie invasion. Zombies aren't going to check if you're PvP flagged or not. Also Blizzard has mentioned that this is a one-time event for WotLK and will never occur again. I figure we should take advantage while it lasts!

Other players are not too pleased with the scourge.  It wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't in the main cities at the AH.   I was checking mail and got whacked.
I'll run my mining operation but can't sell anything because the auctioneers are being killed.   You can heal but it takes multiple times and the other to get healed is infect others ???   Maybe they're trying to encourage people to go out questing...I don't know but its getting WAY out of hand.

He's my shadow priest, almost 20% of the way to level 71.

Here's the stats for [Medic's Morning Star]

It's literally the first quest reward you get when you walk into Borean Tundra.

Rolled myself a Tauren Warrior I'm trying to level 100% protection. Alternating between him and my priest who is 74 at the moment. Here's a shot with the Baby Blizzard Bear pet we all got as a gift for WoW's 4th anniversary. He's like my own little coke bear.

So I was waiting for a mob to respawn so I could take him out for a quest on my warrior. I figured I should take a seat and wait for him. I thought it was funny (espeically with the other guy I just took down laying on the floor, I think my warrior is a bit of a sociopath)

I won't ruin it for people who haven't done the quest yet but here's (from left to right in the second shot) Thrall, Sylvanas Windrunner, me, and a Troll general who's name I can't remember.

Hm it's nice to have it in a movable frame like that. Oh and BTW I couldn't wait for you to hit 80, I rolled a Human mage on Earthen Ring, his name is Stevn and he's level 12. Time to see how the other half lives. Also the XP buff from the fire festival makes leveling good and quick.

Very cool frozen solid battlefield where you do on of the Sons of Hodir Daily quests in the Storm Peaks. This, along with the cool ambient music makes for a very cool setting, Blizzard has gotten really good at this with the last expansion.

Title: Re: World of Warcraft Screenshots
Post by: billybob476 on July 12, 2009, 08:34:09 AM
I'm not 100% sure, there's a quest line in Storm Peaks that starts in the Goblin town of K3 that opens up the Sons of Hodir. The mobs are level 80 but at 79 I'm sure you could take them.

The important thing about them is when you get honored and exalted status you can but some pretty nice shoulder enchants (for you it would be the +14 and then +24 spell power ones).

I guess the thing is that the game is really good at giving you incremental rewards. If you don't watch yourself you can easily get into the "oh, one more quest, oh one more dungeon, oh one more battleground" mentality.

However, as with anything, in moderation it's a great time.

No Beta key for me and I wouldn't use it if I had one. I want to see the new stuff when its done and polished.

LotRO was spoiled for me because I spent so much time hardcore beta testing it. It was then I decided to never beta again.

Do many of the Treks in Scifi listeners play on the same server? I am over on Cenarion Circle but many of my friends have quit so I am sort of looking for a new guild / group.

I've been gone from the game for so long I would hardly remember how to operate the keyboard.  The same thing happened last time I quit for a while, it was like starting over from scratch except I had a max level toon to play.  What woulnd up happening is I raised an alt that became my main and my poor lonely Warlock fell by the wayside.  I don't think I ever even got my Lock to 80, I should finish him up.  He has a cool name for a Warlock, I think:  Zarathos.

Yeah a few AIE-ers have them, really like that mount :)

Also, it's official, patch 4.0.1 is dropping today. Hope you are ready for the big change to talents etc!

Never has a game changed so much over the years.  I don't care too much about it.  I just want the Halloween festival in the game to start.  My favorite in game event!

Yes, the headless horseman! That is a fun boss fight!  Are they changing his drops this year?  Everyone wanted his flying horse, I recall.  So fun to see everyone flying around on broomsticks all month.
