Some of you know I'm part of a production group called MissingHen Productions and we make comedy shows. Our stuff is mainly on various streaming sites like You Tube etc. We've been working on a show called The Danger Signs for around three years now and so we have decided on doing a new show in between breaks from filming The Danger Signs and our own individual filming products.
Our new show is called News@Then and is set in the year 2285. We are a news team who go back in time to report on historical events as they happen. In 2285 all Historical books have been destroyed or not believed so Historical happenings need to be told and that is where our news room come in. We started filming the first three episodes this week and we took a few photographs whilst shooting. I took on the roles of 16th century inn keeper (had to have a full beard for this one) for episode 2 called 'Werewolves', then i filmed the part of a Victorian Policeman (quick shave of the chin and cheeks to get a Victorian style beard) for episode 3 called Attack The Moon, and finally the role of a critical monk (no beard and a very painful shave i can tell you) for the pilot episode.
Phil filmed these scenes and Kerry and Phil directed my performance. We've got quite a bit more to shoot ans once Peter gets back form his holidays and Helen is free the full team will be up and running. Anyway here are a few photo's.
Me and Kerry rehearsing, I am in costume as the Inn Keeper looking very rough and rugged, then me in my policeman uniform, and again and then in the monks outfit, while filming.
And here are some more pics, plus Phil pointing at the very bad wig which is for a backing shot (I'll be composed around 20 times so there are a lot of monks hanging around. We shot in front of a green screen which was very George Lucas except we don't have much money and its in Birmingham.
I wish I still had my green screen, I lent it to a friend and I never saw it again. Makes me a somewhat irritated. Cool pictures though, can't wait for the episode.
We just painted the side of our studio wall, behind the camera is the computer desk and discs, very cramped i can tell ya.
Nice photos, man; I dig the muttonchops!
I've checked out a couple of episodes of The Danger Signs; you guys do a great job! When will the News@Then be coming out?
That is awesome Meds! I wish I lived by you. We have done many green screen things. I think you and I would be a real cut up together!
:)
I can't wait to see some of your episodes!

The art of low budget film making.
Truthfully now living away from my family I don't have the family camcorder and I have to use my MacBook webcam and I'm using a cat scratching post tree as my tripod of sorts.
I need to buy myself a camcorder and tripod as soon as I get the money, or I'm going to go nuts.
Looks like good fun :)
You said they're on youtube? *goes on a hunt*
Looks like a lot of fun and a very cool idea for a show! Definitely keep us posted.
Fantastic stuff Meds... can't wait to see the episode.
So we did more filming over the Christmas break for both News@Then and a new Danger Signs episode. Phil our producer sent me a wallpaper as a advert for News@Then and i thought i'd post it here to keep you guys up to date.
Hey Meds. I've seen some of your stuff on youtube and it's damn funny, i particularly love the trampy guy (can't remember his name) I loomk forward to watching your new material. It looks like typicla British humour.
BTW.
Your Phil has a bit of a Stephen Merchant look about him.
Ha ha yes he does doesnt he. I'll let him know. The trailer for news at then is up, i think i put it in the danger signs link but i'll add it here as well.

That was Hi-larious Meds! LOL! I love the mid-air repairs and the gnome in a jar. :D
Ah the gnome in a jar, one of ranulphs best collectibles bless him.
Ranulph, thats him. Him and his wonderful drink. Funny bloody stuff mate
Glad you like Ranulph, he's a bit hit and miss but i love playing him. You should see what he drinks in the next epsidoe hee hee
.....And he does do a very important job
Oh yes a very important job. If you go to www.thedangersigns.com (http://www.thedangersigns.com) there are loads more photo's. i do look better in real life. Hopefully.
Very funny and well written!
Our new website is up that has both the new Danger Signs stuff and the first two episodes of News@Then.

Ha ha love that line.
like refreshing beverages... I laughed so hard!
Well yestarday i spent the evening filming some sections of the News@Then. We've had some great feedback and i was worried about the material. As its all about history (and the odd future episode (see bottom photo) I thought some people wouldn't get the humour if they have no interest in the past. Well no one seems to care as we just look daft sometimes and thats worth a giggle. Anyway I had to act four different parts (they will be spread out over the next few months) and those were (1st and 2nd Photos) Puritan Sir Alan Sugar (who is the owner of Amstraf and is the main man in the UK version of The Apprentice), a Geek (no photo of that as all i had to do was wear a tshirt, have my normal glasses on and speak in my normal voice which as we all know means i'm a geek playing myself), a chap who's father is a zombie and he's a bit annoyed that the local council wont take the body away when he puts it out for the refuge man (no photo for that thankfully as that hessian gown was awfull) and a futuristic member of parliament (last photo) which was quite hard to do as i had to have a makeup on. Anyway here are the photos, the green screen will have various stuff in the edit. You can see our News at then episodes at www.missinghen.co.uk along with The Danger Signs episodes oh and a new one of them will be out soon.
Love the make-up. I for one love history. Gonna check it out. :)
Looks like it's going to be a good episode, but you're torquing me with your green screenocity. I have to buy a new green screen (cause of one of my friends borrowed it and lost it, still a bit angry), but I need it for the next episodes of Malevolent Shadow (practice some special effects you know).
But excited to see the show. I eagerly await them on YouTube.
We've done three News@Then shows and they are only about 5 Min's long. Criticism is allowed ha ha
Hmmm, not sure the makeup suits... ;)
It's a very good Alan Sugar!
Special edition of News@Then just out on time for tonights The Apprentice final here in England.
Take a look.
N@T: The Apprentice (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9zROsRrr9P8#ws-lq-lq2-hq-vhq-hd)
Most appropriate. Love the characters to either side of 'Sir Alan'.
Yeah and the funny thing is they were not there when i did the filming for that.
Really? On one shot one of them's in front of you? Someone's been busy if that's all green screen!
Its all green screen. The Danger Signs is filmed outdoors but News@Then is all filmed in the studio. More coming soon.
That is an awesome still image (you with the pointing, before I click play), I've never gotten a still that good for my YouTube videos. Awesome video too by the way. Green screens awesome, just got one myself for Mal Shadow and the other stuff I'll be doing.
Cheers mate, t does look good doesn't it. Got love filming in HD.
New Episode up and its all about the PLAGUE!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dude, you guys are very funny, and I have to say your production quality rocks! These are so well done.

Meds - Can British blokes talk with two or more different accents on cue? Say one sounding like the King's proper & clear diction and the other with a cockney (?) words-slurred accent? We have to know. I seem to detect this as you do your various role playing on your series. In America we could certainly affect different accents such as a Bostonian, a Texan, a Southerner, etc.

PS. well done I say
Hi Vartok. Lol well yes to your answer. Me personaly I can switch pretty easily from region to region. In fact with news@then I filmed three roles after each other all with different voices. They were The Inn Keeper, policeman and then union monk, so Yorkshire (traditional) to cockney to Bolton(ish). It does take a few rehersal run throughs to nail it.
The episode of news coming soon has me doing a Tony Blair (ish) voice, I recorded that after I did the plague character.
I have to grow a beard normally and we film my stuff in a day with me shaving as I go along lol.
The one voice I slip into all the time and one I struggle to drop is that of Ranulph Finds the vagrant in The Danger Signs, he's a mix of Cary Grant and James Mason. Lol
Thanks for the nice comments Vartok :)
BRILLIANT as usual! I love the scrolling news ticker at the bottom as well!
