Video below made from maybe the best episode of "Stargate: Atlantis."  Don't watch if you are not caught up on the series.  This is taken from a recent episode called "The Shrine."  Amazing and tear jerking episode.
This show deserves more seasons!

Hi everyone. This is Paul from Portland, OR. I'm sorry I haven't posted more than I have but I will try to rectify that. Thank you Rico for the great time I had with the show this morning. I hope I didn't sound too bad. I have it downloaded now but I'm afraid to listen to it, afraid how my voice will sound. If anyone has any questions for me, I'll be checking back regularly. Take care.

Looking forward to listening to the show.

Here is the song stuff for today's show.  As always, thanks Rico for playing it- you're so cool.

Here is the link, for some reason it's not coming out as stereo on the show as it is in the studio.  So, take a listen to the file from my site, it works great from there, download it and have fun!  http://www.christrocks.com/parody (http://www.christrocks.com/parody)   is the site.

This particular song is here http://www.christrocks.com/forum/getintothegatetreksf.mp3 (http://www.christrocks.com/forum/getintothegatetreksf.mp3) Thanks again Rob for the colaboration.  Let us know what you think!

Get into the gate
A colobration between Rick Moyer and Rob Scalise
Keys, drums by Rob
Vocals & Guitar Rick

Buried in the sand in an ancient land
the ring it sat for time on deep in the sand
Till it got dug up and powered on
And they hired Kurt Russell and Richard Dean Anderson

Ten years with a cast so fine,
the storlines kinda just blew our minds
Slidin' through space in the Chapoi
they could go anywhere and didn't have to fly

Get into the gate  you gotta get into the gate.

On Sg1 that cast was real cool,
With Daniel, Sam, Jack and Tealc too.
General Hammond with his belly so round,
Later with Mitchell and Vala they found

On a mission every week to see the galaxy
Fighting off the Gould and the Ori you see
Stationed in a mountain underneath Cheyenne
Saving the Earth was their goal and plan

Get into the gate  you gotta get into the gate.

(bridge)
The Sg1's got  Tealc Yeah
We got Ronan, We got Ronan

Get into the gate  you gotta get into the gate.

The spinoff show got really trick
as we traveled up to the Antartic
To the Acients city of that Atlantis fair
The newer looking Gate was up in the air

Rodney, Sheppard, and Kaela too,
gotta check out the dreadlocks on the Ronan dude.
Fighting of the bugs they call the Wraith
Freakin' on the replicators and Woosleys's great.

Get into the gate  you gotta get into the gate.

Awesome podcast Rico!  A special thanks to Rick and Rob!  Paul did an excellent job as well!  I've been waiting for you to do a podcast on Stargate SG-1.  It's one of my favorite SciFi shows.  I started watching Stargate SG-1 about four months ago and I"m hooked!  Currently I'm on Season 5.  I can wait until I get to Stargate Atlantis.

Once again, thank you for the great podcast!

Glad you enjoyed the show.  I like the change of pace podcasts now and then.  Stargate has been (and is) a great franchise!

Great job Paul. Great episode Rico. Loved the collaboration Rick and Rob. I want to hear more!

I'm not a fan of Stargate. I watched the movie when it came out and enjoyed that—I think I preferred the seriousness of the film. I just could never get into the Stargate television series, not sure why. I'll try it again at some point... maybe I just need to approach it differently.

Same here Jen, I just can't get into it.

I hope I didn't give anyone the wrong idea about the humor vs. seriousness of the two Stargate TV series.  The shows can be deadly serious at times and also have humorous moments too.  The characters are very likable and real - to me at least.  Anyway, I do hope you give it a try again sometime.  The recent Atlantis episode focusing on Rodney losing his brain function was simply one of the best things on Sci-Fi TV I have ever seen.  I'd put it right up there with "The Inner Light" from TNG.  It was that good.

Oh no, I'm sure it's an amazing show, I guess the daunting thing at the moment is there's what, like 10 or 11 seasons to work on for the original show? Then 5 of Atlantis?

Just a bit intimidating!

I agree Rico, it was one of the best I have seen too.

Both series are really good.  It does grow on you.

I just love the ideas and concepts that they put out.  Very cool.

Both series are excellent and well worth a podcast or two.

Personally, I'm rewatching SG-1 in line with the 5th Race Stargate podcasts and am just reaching the end of season 4 of Atlantis (slightly restricted by the fact that this was pulled from free-to-air TV over here at the end of season 1).

I spent all day yesterday after the interview, watching my favorite episodes. I still only got to halfway through Season 4. Still a long way to go. Rico, your comment about the show having very serious moments mixed in with light hearted ones is very true. One of the episodes I watched last night was one called "The Other Side" that had our favorite Changeling, Rene Auberjonois, Odo, as the leader of a group that started a war on their home planet over sick dreams of racial purity. They contacted Earth promising us all this advanced tech. if we would help them win their war. After Jack and Teal'c helped the other side get through for a final attack of their base, he tries to come through the wormhole to escape. When Jack reaches the other side, he orders that the iris be closed. Everyone can guess what happened when Odo's character hit the iris. The look on Jack's face and Sam's face as she looked at him, was just awesome acting wise. Great acting all around.

I watched that episode a couple of weeks ago.  It was awesome!  I'm currently in middle of Season 5.  I really glad I decided to give Stargate another chance.

This episode was unique in that it covered a subject that I know next to nothing about.. and I loved it!  With two TV series and two DVD movies out, the Stargate Property always seemed too daunting for me to try to get into.  Thanks for the entertaining and informative peek into the Stargate Universe!  This podcast has convinced me to check it out.

I think the Shrine should win a lot of awards.  Especially the actor.  It was a tear-jerker for me.

I'm sorry I haven't been able to keep up with Atlantis. It looks like it has been a very worthy addition to the Stargate franchise. I hope Stargate Universe will be just as good.
