I've been looking forward to this game for a long time. It looks like it's about to come out... But I don't see a 360 version, and I heard it would be playable on a console, Mac or PC. Alas, I don't believe my Mac is currently up to playing the game. It's a tricked out G4 but it needs a new video card. I figured that the 360 would be more enjoyable anyway, as I do like to play in the living room with Dave. He hates playing games but enjoys watching others play.
Does anyone know if they are porting Spore to the 360 later?
I've not heard of a 360 version Jen. At least not in the near future. We'll probably be picking up the PC version.
Yeah looks like its PC/Mac and Nintendo DS.
It's also available on the mobile format and I think it will eventually come out on the XBox. I may look into purchasing the DS version, it looks compelling.
Yeah Natalie has a DS so i may give her a gentle push towards a game store hee hee.

Oh yeah, strictly for her of course. :D
Erm...... yes...... ;)
My younger son is picking it up today.
I'm thinking of picking it up this weekend. I'm off next week so it'll give me some time to fiddle with it.
Hey jen, just to confirm about it running on your mac:
QuoteThis game will not run on PowerPC (G3/G4/G5) based Mac systems (PowerMac).

Will Wright has been quoted as saying the game will eventually be ported to every console including the Xbox 360. This was earlier in the development cycle however so plans may have changed.
Yeah, that's what I thought Joby. I heard an interview on Gaming Steve back in the day...
There aren't many good games that work on a Mac except WOW...And I'm not interested in playing that.
I really need to get this game, but it couldn't have come out at a worse time for me, I don't have any money, spent it all on my college books and food supply.
What a drag :-[

OH, yeah, I remember those days. That's when I missed just about the entire DS9 and Voyager series. ;)
Don't worry Shep... not playing it now will pay off in the long run. Food and education are much more important than SPORE. :)

Where the heck is Gaming Steve again? I thought for sure we'd see a podcast now that Spore has been released.
It seems Gaming Steve has gone on extended leave again, so soon after coming back for a few weeks after another long absence. And as you say, It's weird since Steve had dedicated forums and slots on the show to "Spore" nearly two years ago.
OK, here's a great Zero Punctuation review of Spore.
Warning: language and poo jokes.

I've read a lot of bad reviews of Spore, so my inability to get in might be a good thing, by the time I get it the price will be lower and I'll get more for my money.
