Title: Screen Grab Software
Post by: Rico on August 31, 2008, 01:38:28 PM
I've used this screengrab software for years.  It's called Hypersnap and it will screen grab ANYTHING on your screen.  Movies, streaming video, games - ANYTHING.  You can even automate it to autosave the grab after you select the area you want a pic of.  And set up a hot key, so with one press it takes a shot and you can immediately press the hot key again to take another.  Works great!

For screen grabbing, this is tons better than Fraps.  I only use Fraps for grabbing game video clips.

A good one for the Mac is Snapz Pro X by Ambrosia Software.

It captures audio, video, anything you can think of.

Ambrosia has been around since the 80's

I love that company, but snap X refuses to leave my computer, I had to assign the "take picture" button to a useless key!

It runs in the background until you manually quit it. It allows you to activate a capture that way - no matter whats running at the time.

I use a modifier key so I don't accidentally activate it: command option 3.

Looks cool.  Do you use hyperSnap or hyperCam?

Hypersnap.

I tried Hypercam once, but for video capture at the time I thought Fraps was better.

I'm going to say no, because to use Image Grabber with video you have to play the clip in image grabber program.
So if the game does not have a record setting I do not think it will work for games

'Fraps' is the one I mainly use, I think it was designed with gamers in mind.
