Well, the Anomaly girls hijacked the podcast this weekend! So the show this weekend features Jen & Angela and a cast of thousands (or at least a few more) giving you their spin doing a Treks in Sci-Fi show!
Thanks much to them and everyone for doing this and giving me a little break this week! You rocked! :metallica:

Ship in a bottle
Sung to the tune of "Time in a bottle" by Jim Croce
http://www.christrocks.com/forum/shipinabottle.mp3 (http://www.christrocks.com/forum/shipinabottle.mp3)
If I could watch ship in a bottle
The show with James Moriarty
I'd laugh at Barclay
As he stutters to say
You're aware, this just can't be.
If I could make photons be solid
The first thing that I'd like to do
Is to help James make Regina for real and then
Again, she could be human too.
But the Heisenberg Compensators
Won't do the things I want to do
Once I enhanced them
Ive tried real hard enough to know
It's just not really poss-ible
On the Holodeck
If I could play Holmes like ol' Data
And Geordi would be Watson too
I'd fix the holodeck
So things could be perfect
Just so that they could spend time just the two
But to makes things right we have to fool
And use his ruse to save the duo
And help them
So we'll stick them in a fake shuttle
So they can go where they want to go
for a lifetime.
Very cool podcast, Jen and Angela!
Rico- Like Rick said in the podcast, THANK YOU for letting us fans participate! You ROCK!
Rick- as always, your song kicked butt! You have a lot of talent- heck, I bet you could sell a sci-fi parody CD. I'd buy a copy!
Great show everyone! I'm glad to have contributed in some small way.
Outstanding Job everyone.
You ladies are a hoot! I was LOL in may car when you where picking the episode apart. "I hope we didn't scratch your podcast" Ho, ho, snort!
Great radio spots (jimmy me boy!)
Love how the promo for Season 8 of the RPG came out. Bravo!

This group may be geeky, but also very cool!
You guys are so great!
The thank you's to Rico where very touching.
Rico, you really have something to be proud of.
Long live TREKSF! :metallica:
I'm turning the podcast into a geeky "Tonight Show." On this weekend's podcast, guest host(s) __________ will be filling in while Rico's on vacation! ;)
This was an excellent podcast w/o Rico. Although I found the intro spectacular. I'd love to see the intro in video. ;)
Excellent job Angela and Jen. Its why I listen to Anomaly. :)
King
Yeah, the guest hosts are great for a show or two, but NOONE could replace Johnny....I mean, Rico
Da na, dot, dot, dot. Shave and a hair cut, da, da!
May a desert weirdo lower his figs into your mother's soup.
May a diseased yak squat in your hot tub.
May you get your first French kiss from a diseased camel.
May your Perrie water be secretly bottled in Tijuana.
May a crazed lizard unravel your underwear.
May your platform shoes fail you in a camel pasture.
May a queasy camel freshen up your mother's evening bath.
May a sick yak leave a gift in your sock drawer.
May a nearsighted sand flea suck syrup off your short stack.
May the winds of the Sahara blow a scorpion up your sister's caftan.
May a camel with a weak kidney condition find your Hope Chest.
OK, I got to hear the whoe show. Very fun! Jen and Angela, you crack me up! Rico- it was so funny when you sicked Kaylee on them! Ha! The music was so fun, I could just see you guys in Rico's convertible racing down the highway with the tunes blaring! :)
I loved your reactions to the news report, the review was great and some stuff I never thought of in it.
The commercials were funny, and Vartok- Vartock industries.. :) you cracked me up!
Meds- hehehe. Finigans.. :) Type 2 phasers.. Nice. Ok, I'm in trouble because I can't get that silly little jingle out of my head now... fruity oaty bars!
Wtsf, nice Wraith... very fun!
Nice collectible review Jen!
The comments to about you and your show Rico were spot on. Very touching actually. What a great community.
The RPG promo was excellent! Nice music Metron! And the bloopers were very funny. What a great podcast!
Hats off ladies, may you podcast long and prosper!
KTRK! OUT OF THIS WORLD RADIO!!!
I laughed like mad while driving. Thanks guys. This show was a blast. Awesome job!
Leave it to me to critique myself but with so much going on we forgot like one of the main themes. The whole Matrix, we could be on someone's table bit. But it may have been a little too much to go into because that may have taken us to a philosophical place we may not want to go. Just want everyone to know that we did think about it.
I really enjoyed this show! I'm listening to the end now and there is really not a flat moment. Good Job!
AWESOME SHOW... OMG.. the beginning was the best..
Rick you were FANTASTIC.. love your radio voice.
Meds.. great commercials
Everybody who contributed did a wonderful job.
Just more proof that we have one of the best geeky communities around.
Rock on Treks in Sci-fi...
Has everyone seen Ship In A Bottle recently? That was a fun show to review.
AWESOME podcast! My favorite geeky cutie pie's Jen and Angela were chariming in the extreme! I was loving the rocking music at the beginning. I was out on my bike in 100+ degree heat listening and was laughing out loud! Huge kudos to Mr. Moyer for the great commercials and radio personality. Terrific stuff from Med's and Wraith and Vartok rocked it! We need that dude on the forum more!

Well it's in the Now Showing Theater right here on the forum if you haven't seen it in awhile. ;)
Did anyone agree/disagree with our observations? :) Curious to know your thoughts.
I never liked this episode very much. I was never a fan of the holo-deck gone awry stuff.

I have to agree on your thoughts with Picard and the whole "We've got our best minds on it". I mean, wtf was he doing on the Enterprise after all these years? Why wasn't he at Starfleet?
King
Maybe they sent a copy of the program to their best minds. :)
I really enjoyed the whole twist element to it. The first time I watched it was like.. what??? ohhh! Same feeling you guys had, I've got to watch it again so that I can see what's going on. Like the sixth sense.
What a brilliant podcast. You ladies so make me laugh. You make a great double act and my god what a naughty laugh Angela has ha ha. Brilliant show and i loved the start, Rico, Jen and Angela, brilliant. Great additions everyone. I liked the episode but teh character of Moariarty is not like the book version. He would have killed people straight away if he though he was trapped. Oh by the way did anyone pic up on the in-refference with the finnegan advert?
Quote from: HawkeyeMeds on August 26, 2008, 02:28:58 PMOh by the way did anyone pic up on the in-refference with the finnegan advert?
Caught it loud and clear, Jimmy boy!
Good Finnegan impression I must say.
Oh it was terrible ha ha. The refernce is in the address of the street that the bar is on.
did you like my little "beaming and shipping" comment?
Utopia Planetia... heheheh. :)

I thought of that...but I doubt they could they make another sentient hologram if they weren't even sure how they made the first one.
If you were a scientist, would you want to study a copy or the original specimen? If you were to say "I'd be cool with a copy", would the program degrade slightly with each duplication, like an mp3 or a jpg? And if you successfully duplicated a sentient hologram...would the results of your tests be accurate after making a copy?
And to follow that up... Wouldn't Moriarty know if a copy of him was made, if he was cognisant during the four years he was in storage? He said he was aware of the passage of time... maybe he would also detect the manipulation of his file...
Was Picard stretching the truth? Or was this a flub in the plot?
Food for thought. ;)
Yes, all I know is that when Barclay put the yellow memory unit into the device I thought.. WOW That is so cool. I want one on my desk.. and what if we are all in a giant holo program on someone's desk or in someone's closet?? hheheheheh

I shiver every time I think about that possibility. Its scary.
King
well, obviously I don't believe that. :) I wouldn't do what I do if that were the case. But what a very cool concept.
Matrix before Matrix....
I hated to say this and cause a buzzkill, but I might as well speak my mind. I think if we got a chance to speak to the person(s) who wrote the script, I think we would be shocked how they did not anticipate that we would be picking it apart years later because it was a TV show. It has always been a tough pill for me to swallow that is the reality as all of us would want them to be more thoughtful about it in ST universal (sorry Paramount) laws. It is fun to speculate but I would love to corner one of those writers and show them the scene with the "Choppers" in Galaxy Quest.
It could even be poor editing as I'm sure Kenny would testify to. The scence might have been written and filmed but cut for time.
At the same time, you have to admit ST makers managed to sneek more quality in their scripts then most other shows, sadly it's more the exception than rule.
Sorry, sorry :'(
Jen,
I appreciated your dissection of the episode. Sometimes I can get really carried away with a slick presentation, especially on the first viewing, without identifying script boo-boos. I remember really loving this episode the last time I saw it, eons ago.
The funny thing is I'm a firm believer in having an air-tight script, but you really pointed out some things to consider. Thanks for the "food for thought." I'll have to watch this again.
I'm with Jen (or was it Angela?) on the 'was data fooled' issue.
I can't accept that Data didn't realise they hadn't left the Holodeck. As a machine capable of movement I imagine he'd have to have some form of internal Nav sensors. Given that the Holodeck is only just big enough to swing a cat it, no matter what was projected I can't imagine that he didn't realise he hadn't left this one very small area.
Brilliant show, both the main presentation and all of the additional features. Loved it!

It was me... Jen. :) Thanks for the comments, glad you guys liked the "pick-apart". ;D
I think that Data was fooled because as Kirk pointed out often, androids or robots created by imperfect creatures tend to not be as perfect as they think they are.
Data has been fooled by a holodeck before and this was the guy that was created to beat Data that put the plan in motion. While Data might be strong and fast, the main computers are still better than him in calculations and data stuff and hold more information or else he would have never needed to use the computers to access something.
I think he got beat fair and square, but I did love the pickapart and agreed with many of your other observations.
