Well, after having to encode the file about 5 times (long story) the show is up and done! :taz
I made the quality level a bit higher so the file size is BIG (about 440 meg). If anyone has trouble with a file that size, let me know and I can post a smaller one some where later on.
Here's where it is for now:

Thanks! I think it was more like "Obsession." Where's a red shirt when you need them? ;)
Hey everyone, :cheering
Downloaded the podcast and looked at it on my iPod both while getting ready for work and at my desk. Thanks Rico for including my video and I promise I'll never use YouTube videos again so we won't get that chinese martial art dubbed film look. Great to see a face on the so many TrekSF forum members.
Jen, killer writing and acting on the voiceover review of your episode. Interesting that would both of our videos would end with a tribute to our dads. Great sunset.
Rico, nice dancing at the end of the cast as I 'm sure you were happy after all your hard work putting it together and the great work on your music video. Wow that isn't the little puppy you spoke of only a few months ago! :biggrin
All and all a memorable <-( Boy I use that word a lot don't I? ) podcast. Happy Summer 2008 fellow TrekSFers! :eekout
;D
Great video podcast Rico! I enjoyed seeing everyone again. Thanks for all the hard work on your part Rico and on everyone who did a clip! What an encourging group of folks! (and how creative!)
I thought each video was unique and very cool.
AWESOME!!!!!
Great Podcast Rico. I know how much work that can be. Thanks for doing that. GREAT videos everyone. Bryan and Moyer you guys crack me up! I enjoyed everyone's comments. VERY well done.
One thing I noticed about my own video...My M4V file (ipod video), after being compressed again when you exported, was very pixelated and the audio was out of sinc. The original was dead on. Was it the compression that caused that glitch? Should I send a higher res MOV file next time? Just let me know in the future if you need me to reexport something I send... I can always re-do it. I hope my videos weren't what caused you so much trouble. Maybe it would help you out if we all would export in the same format and file size for the next video podcast. I would hate for you to go through all that trouble again.
Again, LOVED the vidcast! Thanks for letting us share the spot light with you Rico. Your special guests were great!
I forgot to say, Rico, that is the best intro for Star Trek I've seen yet. Excellent job.
And kaylee is cute.
Your dancing could use work however....;)

I tried to get similar formats but not everyone has the same equipment, software, etc. Recompression can cause some weird issues. For example, Bryan's file ended up pretty good and the base file total size he sent me was about 175 MB. But I did the best I could.
For future reference (and future shows) I would suggest you (and others) send me larger - less compressed footage. When we get near doing another one of these I will send out the requirements. Oh - it wasn't your video that was hanging up the encoding either - it was another one.
P.S. Feel free to share a link to your less compressed video for others to see.

Darn, I knew I should have sent a bigger file. Sorry about that. I think I sent a MOV last time, now that I think of it. Oh well. The podcast was still awesome. You did a great job, and I enjoyed the music video. I got a little "verklempt" after watching it. ;)
How did you like Don's tatoo? Wasn't that funny?
Oh no, Rico please don't tell me it was mine. Even though I sent your a iPod format video, originals where a mixture of Youtube converted to WMV and uncompressed AVI from my camcorder.
I agree with you, less compression will be the ticket next time around. Perhaps Mpeg2? The file sizes will be about double in size but you should see no problems. Jen's idea of high bit rate MOVs might also work.
I'm sorry if I was the one who caused you grief. :confused

I can't believe she would sign his arm... well... maybe I can. I heard an interview on the Force Cast with a man who runs the conventions. He said she signed his bald head, without his permission. She thought it was funny. :D
Don seemed very proud of it—nice likeness of her.
Thanks for this episode Rico. I really enjoyed it. Hope I can do something for the next video cast.
Good job everyone.
Moyer: that store looks fantastic!
Its downloading now. A whopping 82 minutes. After reading these posts though, it looks like my creativity is going to have to be used next time
Yeah mines taken 70 mins and i've still got ages to go.
I think historically, Britains always had a slow bandwidth. Mines upto 8mb although I rarely get over 4.
Sorry about the long download times guys. Over here with typical cable broadband it should only take 10 - 15 mins.
Ahhh cable, that long distant dream. :'(
No worries though Rico, it's downloading happily in the background and I can sync my ipod in approximately 14 minutes. Oh the anticipation
I'm dying to see it, I will do it tomorrow. Glad everyone enjoys me making a complete fool of myself! Shame?! What's that?! ;)

I downloaded it in about 8 minutes
Just watched #185, Great job everyone!
I never really considered the moral of "The Offspring" before Rob in Orlando's review. Very nice insights.
Bryan's Commodore Decker was spot on!
Not many actors can upstage the Shat. Long live Willie the Weeper!
Meds brought up a good point regarding the Mirror Mirror scene used for Sisko's introduction to Kirk, you know your Trek. One highlight not mentioned - Dax in a mini skirt, very fetching!
Jen's "Fist full of Datas" episode has never been retold with such fun and flair.
Angela's "Looking for a good docking spot" was a clever double entendre - cool!
Richard's Trials and Tribble-ations video clip reviewed everything that Trek does best - nice job!
Tim's pick of the innerlight was interesting.
I'm surprised the studio suits approved such a departure from the standard sci-fi episode. A memorable story indeed.
Rick''s on location interview a was a hoot - your a mad man!
Rico's music vid was inspired and a nice way to wrap up a fun show :)

Man Britain sucks in the Internet department. I still have not seen it yet as quicktime seemed to take hours. Will try on my main computer tonight.
Sorry about the problems, Meds; I downloaded the thing in only 3 minutes. ;D
Great job to you and all of the other contributers; your submissions were great! It was cool to see how close my personal taste coincide with the other members; all of the chosen episodes were some of my favorites as well!
Trials and Tribulations- A modern classic!
Fist full of Datas- One of the best Holo-episodes of TNG.
The Enterprise episode (I forget what it is called) was pretty good. It was neat to see the NX-01 finally get some teeth.
The Inner Light- Probably my single favorite episode of TNG. I still get chills whenever I take the time to really listen to the flute piece from that episode.
Doomesday Machine- Awesome episode! Bryan, your acting skills made me spit cereal all over my keyboard in laughter. I'll be sending you the PC repair bill... ;)
City On The Edge of Forever- Probably the greatest of the TOS episodes. The music video was very well done.. almost brought a tear to my eye.
The Most Toys- probably one of my all-time favorite Data episodes. I like the way the writers hinted at Data's humanity without coming out and saying it.
Once again, great job everyone! You guys rock!!!
Again - I'm glad everyone is enjoying the video. Makes all the hours of work worth it!
Great podcast everyone it was absolutely amazing. Rico thanks for compiling this and also for putting in those excellent pictures you really made my contribution look a hell of a lot better. Everyone you were great and it's so good to see all your faces, couldn't stop laughing at Bryan.
Well done Rob (great looking pool), Bryan (man you kill me), Davekill (cool video), Jen (fantastic review and you looked great in the hat, very Texan and what a sunset wow), Richard (great choice of episode), Rick (brilliant shop i am so jealous), Tim (great Amy singing, those Brighton karaoke nights out are working), Rico (amazing vidcast and wicked dancing my friend) great to see Lynn and Kaylee as well.
Thanks again for doing this episode and Happy 185th podcast
I also agree! Everyone did super!!! Loved the cast. Thanks Rico! ;)
Just had a chance to watch it. Awesome job everyone!
