Title: Podcast # 181
Post by: Rico on July 06, 2008, 10:26:09 AM
Just got Podcast # 181 up.  I really like how this one came together.  Hope you all enjoy my discussion on the "Star Wars" radio dramas and other topics.

P.S.  Forgot to mention the donations from this past week on the show - sorry for that and I will mention you next week.  Thanks to Rick Moyer, Rich Peete, & Eric Gant.  You guys all rock!   :metallica:

That's awesome, Rico!  Thanks for posting this.

I'm looking forward to listening to the podcast on the ride to work tomorrow.

I remember Sunday afternoons huddled around Dad's stereo listening to the first NPR Star Wars radio drama.  And I enjoyed listening to all three last year.  I can't wait to hear your take on things, Rico.

This week's podcast was great!  I never knew that NPR had done a radio dramatization of Star Wars.  I gonna have to pick them up soon.

Rico,

Thanks again for including my little WALL-E ditty.

Yeah, this brings back some great memories. I remember listening to these when I was living up north in New York. I was in a Heavy Metal band at the time and we would stop our rehersals and pipe this through our big PA system.

Ah, memories.

Yeah,

Farewell to the Star Trek Experience. I was able to visit it twice. See my profile Pic. They had not one but two full size replicas of the Enterprise -D bridge. When we last did the tour they left my wife and I in on one of the bridges alone for about 15mins  :ohbaby I will miss that place.

Rico, you may want to make a sort of pictorial shrine to the Star Trek Experience were forum members can post their pics in commemoration.

Any of you who can should try to go at least once before the closing. We owe it to the franchise.

Wow we lost George Carlin and the Star Trek Experience in one year. Tough times.
I for one will miss them both.

Ok, just got done with the rest of it.  EXCELLENT!  Kenny- I had all of the buck rogers and battlestar galacticas on cassette tape too!  I put the tape recorder up the speaker on the TV and then edited out the commercials.  I listened to them when I fell asleep every night.  I loved your comments.

That was simply a great podcast.

Thanks Rico!

I'm unhappy about the Star Trek Exprience dying.  That was one of my hopes to see next year on our family's vacation but now....well.....dangit.  GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

Anyway, another great podcast Rico.  I was really interested in the audio series and might look them up.

Listening to the podcast as we speak..er..type.  Great, great podcast Rico, I really need to find these and pick them up.  BTW was it just me or did anyone else think that BryanCD  sounds alot like Zachary Quinto?  I just thought...Wow if they do a Heroes Radio drama, BryanCD would be a great Sylar.  Maybe I'm just tired.

Keep up the great work.

Yeah - he does sound like Quinto.  There are a couple of other actor voices he reminds me of too.  Just can't place them right now.  Glad you liked the cast.

I vote for more audio submissions by Bryan too!  But fix that hum issue on your Mac!  It's giving you some kind of feedback or something in your audio.

It's not the Mac. It's the mic. Bryan check out this mic... works very well with my Apple and the recording quality is awesome for the price. It's a great product if you just want to plug it in and go: Samson C01U. I bought a popfilter and a floor stand as well.

That's what I was referring to. It's not designed for the type of recording he's doing. He's getting an echo in the background too. I heard it to in his RPG recordings.  :)

Great job everyone who provided content to this one.  Great show!!

Every time a Star Wars segment came to an end I found myself saying "Noooo!!!!"  Really enjoyed them.  Didn't like Han Solo's voice.  The quality of Darth Vader's voice was too different for my taste, but the actor did a great job nevertheless.  All the others were right on.

Gonna hafta borrow these from the local library.  ;)

Yeah, Perry King auditioned for the roll of Han Solo and came in for multiple reading of Han's lines with different actors and actresses. There is a copy of ANH out on the internet which has all the audition scenes and you would be amazed at who was up for some of the parts! Valerie Bertinelli as Leia?!  :blink

I always liked Perry King.  He seemed to have a similar look and personality as Harrison's.  Those old auditions are cool to watch!
