Another sad bit of news....
From Aint it Cool News:
Don S. Davis, the busy character actor who played Major Garland Briggs on "Twin Peaks," has passed away.
He was 65.
Davis' role on "Peaks" may have inspired producers to cast him as military men on other sci-fi shows, including Captain William Scully (Dana's pop) on "The X-Files" and Major General George Hammond on "Stargate SG-1." One of his final filmed appearances was for the direct-to-DVD movie "Stargate Continuum," which hits shelves July 29.
Before turning to acting, he was a real-life U.S. Army officer.
His list of credits on IMDb is huge, and demonstrates his penchant for playing a wide array of authority figures, including judges, principals, correctional officers and doctors.
Rest in peace, General....
*salutes*
Good bye General.
I loved his acting and he really knew how to play the General's role. :(
King
He was great as General Hammond. I didn't know about his military background.
He was really good in the roles he filled, I just watched his last apperence in SG-1 season 10 last week (OK, I largely think of him as Hammond).
In a sense I'm glad he got the Continuum shoot in as some form of final farewell - I look forward to seeing it.
This is a shock, but I wish his family well.
Rest in Peace, Don.
What a total bummer. I really enjoyed his acting. He will be missed. :(
Well I will miss him at least there won't be a sudden change in general on Atlantis or SG-1.. farewell General Hammond, Farewell Don!
