The Chicago Tribune reports that discussions are underway right now for up to three "Battlestar Galactica" TV movies to be made later this year.
Shooting on the fourth and final season of the series wraps in June and production could get under way on the TV movies as early as July if negotiations go well over the next fortnight.
Its been reported that these proposed films won't affect the finale of "Battlestar Galactica" in any way, will be set in time periods before the finale, and will depend in part on what actors are available to work on them.
A decision on when the final ten episodes of the current fourth season of "Galactica" will air will be determined later this Summer.

I am curious if these movies will not be affected by the 4th season because AFTER the 4th season they will wrap EVERYTHING up with liitle else to cover. I know it's sci-fi and you can always make something up :)
They say in the article that it won't effect the finale and that the movies will take place before the finale.. It would be more like the Razor movie...
My initial response is "YES!"
A lot happened during the one-year jump at the end of season two, and subsequent films could also take place during the first cylon war. It is also conceivable that the series finale will drop a bombshell that will open up all kinds of new possibilities.
As long as there are no flying motorcycles on the horizon, it's all good.
What you don't think "Space Scouts" would make a good movie??

LOL no sir!
On second thought, Ron Moore seems to be a pretty talented. Perhaps he could turn even an ill-conceived concept like Galactica 1980 into something worth watching...
...Nah! ;D
