Title: It's a bird, it's a plane, it's...
Post by: davekill on May 03, 2008, 02:26:50 PM
It's that time of year when the Kerosene is in the air and a young man or woman's thoughts turn to flying  :flying

OK, if you have served in the military - your saying "I never want to see another airshow"

But for the rest of us, the sights and sounds of precision flying and static diplays are just too cool!

A nice collection of various aircraft
note: The four jets are flying in a "fingertip" formation we learned from the Luftwaffe.

Checkout the ice on the bottom of the U-2's wings, it just came back from a high flight and they are still frozen.

Actually Davekill I grew up near Oceana NAS in Virginia Beach then joined the USAF for ten years and the airshows were always a highlight for me personally.  I could never see the Blue Angels and the Thunderbirds enough.  The C-17 is an amazing cargo aircraft and the A-10 is one of my favorite aircraft of all time.  I always loved the static displays, especially helicopters and WWII aricraft (I noticed a P-47 in your video).  I love a good airshow.
