I did a search on the forums for this topic and am surprised it has not been mentioned before.
If your looking for a cool screen saver (remember those?), This is the coolest thing since the "Flying Toasters".
And it's a free animated LCARS display :wub

They were going on about this on Make It So. It sounds pretty cool; I'm gonna check it out.
There are a bunch of these out there.. I'm using a Voyager one at the moment.

Have you got a link? I'd like to see it too
Yep, I heard about it on Make It So and downloaded it right away. I think that Rico has it on his machine too... I hear it come on sometimes in his podcasts. :D
This one actually works on Macs, the others I've found don't. It looks good on my Cinema Display at work. Too back I can't use it at home. It won't work on the latest Mac OS (Leopard).
Yeah it's part of the LCARSCom.net site. Which by the way is AWESOME... heres the direct link to the screensavers. http://www.lcarscom.net/screensavers.htm
Oh man I just checked and it seems the downloads are offline for the time being... bummer

Very nice :)
When they're back on line, I'll need to get a closer look at the Cardasian displays on the DS9 screen saver.

Jen, I've got an old Pismo powerbook that desperately needs a screen saver upgrade too.
After the dumb water accident I had with my G4 Ti-book, I've found that the Pismo has a lot of life left in it

Yeah; this is a pretty cool site; I purchased a Defieant MSD sheet from this guy a few months ago. It is pretty sharp; I just have to find the right frame for it. I'm trying to find something that is backlit, but so far, nothing pre-made comes close to the right dimensions. I may have to custom build something to display it. If anyone is interested, here's a link to the guys online store- http://www.lcarscom.net/the24thcentury.htm
I'm pretty sure we have discussed and posted about this before. I've been using this screen saver for a long, long time.

COOL. We used to have an old FEDEX sign that was backlit... I bet you can find one of those on Ebay. You could use the parts and build something that will suit your needs...
Thanks for the tip; that's probably going to be the route I take.
