New animated Batman on the way
The Caped Crusader's current animated run ended a few weeks ago with the series finale of The Batman. But the Dark Knight won't be able to relax long with the Cartoon Network's announcement that a new animated series for Gotham's defender will debut this fall.
Batman: The Brave and the Bold will feature the Dark Knight teaming up with several familiar D.C. characters including Green Arrow, the Blue Beetle and Aquaman.
A Cartoon Network press release states that while the show will be centered in Gotham City, the Batman-led teams will venture out into other cities and countries.
IGN speculates that based on the look of released concept art of the new Batman series that it is unlikely this series will feature any tie-in with the Christopher Nolan movie series.

Series finale of "The Batman?!" Darn - I liked that show. Well at least we get a new one soon.

Cartoon Network has announced Batman: The Brave and The Bold, a new animated series slated to debut in 2008.
The series will be set in a new continuity. Here's how the show is described:
"Batman isn't going at it alone this time! From Warner Bros. Animation comes the latest interpretation of the classic Batman franchise. Our caped crusader is teamed up with heroes from across the DC Universe, delivering nonstop action and adventure with a touch of comic relief. Blue Beetle, Green Arrow, Aquaman and countless others will get a chance to uphold justice alongside Batman. Though still based in Gotham, Batman will frequently find himself outside city limits, facing situations that are both unfamiliar and exhilarating. With formidable foes around every corner, Batman will still rely on his stealth, resourcefulness and limitless supply of cool gadgets to bring justice home."
The series, consisting of 30-minute episodes, will be produced by James Tucker and Linda M. Steiner -- the team behind Legion of Super Heroes -- and will be executive produced by Sam Register.
Other creators include line producer Amy McKenna, story editor Michael Jelenic and directors Ben Jones, Brandon Vietti and Michael Chang.
I heard about this weeks ago. Since I love almost all things Bat, Batman Beyond excepted, I am somewhat unthused about this new show. I would be more enthused if Bruce Timm was behind it but alas...

Cool
Starts next Friday - Nov 14.
Yep - got my TIVO set already.
Looking forward to this. I know my kids will enjoy the heck out of it.
I have seen the first two episodes of this show and all I can say is I LOVE IT! It has a 1960s feel and yet modern. The guest heroes and villains are great and I found myself laughing out loud several times during the two episodes. This is one of the best animated series to come along in a while and I hope it gets renewed for another season!

I'm liking it quite a bit too.
