Title: Beta Browser releases
Post by: davekill on April 04, 2008, 08:59:02 AM
From my local users group:

Microsoft has released a public beta of Internet Explorer 8, which promises among other things to be fully standards-compliant. You can download the beta at http://www.microsoft.com/windows/products/winfamily/ie/ie8/default.mspx
if you'd like to check it out.
Microsoft's two biggest competitors in the browser market are hard at work as well. Mozilla has released a public beta of Firefox 3, which can be downloaded from http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-beta.html,
while Apple has released Safari 3.1 (not a beta) for both Mac and Windows - so those of us running Windows will now be able to test our pages on Safari. You can download that browser at http://www.apple.com/safari/download/.

Not, just got this notice this morning.
I'm using Firefox 2.0.0.13 on my PC, Safari on the mac. The promise of Explorer 8 playing nice by becoming standards-compliant is pretty big news. We are required to use IE on the Windows platform for courseware delivery at my job. As a result there are always issues to work around such as non-support of transparency in png files, etc.
