Title: Appleseed ExMachina
Post by: Omra on March 29, 2008, 10:06:40 PM
Just got done watching the new Appleseed Movie ExMachina, it was awesome.  John woo and Shinji Aramaki did a wonderful job on it, giving Masamune's characters and designs a new updated look and feel.  It had a new look to it that was amazing, blending CG with Anime.  Instead of falling into the trap of trying to make EVERYTHING look real, like they did in the 'Final Fantasy' Movie.  They went for a something different.

There was some motion capture, texture mapping and lighting.  But it had a dreamlike quality to it.  hard to explain, I suggest you just buy it or rent it.

I kept watching in awe and wondering in the back of my head, I hope this is what the new 'Clone Wars ' movie is going to look like.  I heard it is also going to be blend of CG and animation.  Here's hoping!

Thanks for the review.  It's atop my Netflix queue.

Thanks for the recommendation; I'll have to check it out.  Just wondering, is this a re-make of the last Appleseed film or OVA, or a brand new story?

This is the third part of the story and I saw it a few days ago. It's really good. Here is my problem. I was tired, really tired, when I started watching it. I saw the beginning and parts of the middle, and the end. I didn't time how long I slept but I figure I missed a nice chunk of it. What I did see, I really liked and I'm probably going to view it all when I'm not so tired.

Netflix has this and the Appleseed movie.  Are there three of them?  Is it critical to watch them in order?  I have both in my queue.  I saw a preview for this Ex Machina one and it looks amazing!
