I'm thinking (<Thinking>) about making a desktop from scratch. Is there a website/list of what parts I would need?

Any help would be great.

You can get a guideline from the internet like this

These sites are some of the best sites for reviews. They also collect the data based on your price range and compare the products in each area. Very good stuff here...
