Well, had to do some moving things around in the basement yesterday and I found an old briefcase full of some treasures. First up, this is a short script I wrote for school - I think. And then next up some sketches I did a long time ago.
Next up we have a list of sound effects I had on a cassette tape to use for our old audio Aurora dramas. The counter number was where it was on the tape. And the pictures are of some models I built and had in my bedroom growing up. And last, the orange pass is from the first Star Trek convention I ever went to. It was in Detroit and George Takei was the only Trek celeb there.
OMG !!
Cool Stuff Rico, I wish I could find some of the stuff I did when I was a kid. Thanks for sharing.
I'm sad. I hardly ever toss anything out.
Sad.. I don't think this is sad... this stuff is like Gold. Thanks for sharing. I wish I had stuff from my childhood.. but a few years back I got stupid and decided to clean house. :( I think I have a box or two of old toys and things from my childhood left.
AWESOME stuff Rico.. thanks for sharing.
Fantastic stuff and NOT sad at all. I lost anawfull lot of stuff over the years (nearly all my comics from 1977 to 1986 and i can't find any of the original Transformers toys (I was 10 in 1984) and i remember keeping the boxes as well. Never throw stuff out, espcially any young lings reading this keep your boxes and don't trash your toys (or buy two, trash one save the other)
I have to admit there is quite a bit that got lost or tossed over the years. Especially from when I was growing up and then moved out when I got married. But I do have some fun stuff from that era still around. Wish I had more pictures but it wasn't quite the digital age. Now I take tons of pictures all the time!
Wow, can't believe your my Dad. How did I turn out so darn cool.
Not sure?!? Hehe!
We collectors all suffer from packrat syndrome. Do you still have the models? Or just the pics? I miss all the models I built as a kid, most of those companies don't even exist anymore.
I have a good number of the models but they are packed away up in my garage. Too much stuff, not enough room.
Very neat Rico!
King
Pretty cool stuff, Rico; thanks for sharing! I wish I still had some of the collectibles and fan-creations from my childhood, but most of them 'vanished' after I went off to college. I think that might be tied into my collecting habits now... A good chunk of the money I spend on collectibles is used to buy mint or near-mint copies of the toys I treasured as a kid. A weird attempt to re-capture some of the magic of my childhood, I guess.
Yeah Wraith I'm doing the same. I very nearly bought an original optimus prime off eBay not long ago but the bidding got silly and i think it went for something like £300. I still hope everytime i nip round to my parents that my Dad will say hey guess what i found in the loft all your old collectibles, instead its normally we found your old school reports, and yes they were rubbish ha ha.
I thought the title of this thread meant we were gonna see pics of my Dad back in High School. Slightly disappointed.

Awesome! I lost most of my stuff like that... Can you believe I buried my Star Wars figures!? They keep popping up in the sand around my parent's house... sometimes they are decapitated, the victims of the lawn mower. Ug.
My son Steve has been begging for me to post more pics of me when I was younger. Here is one of me in college with my college educated cat, Toni.
LOL.. great stuff guys.. we should start a new thread for this topic.. I'll post some of me when I get home tonight.

Good genetics at work bud. ;)
Handsome pics guys. :)
I found one of myself, as a little kid, wearing my favorite Star Wars overalls and a silly space helmet. I don't want to hijack Rico's 30 year ago post. Should we start another thread that everyone can post to?

LOL. For me, I make it a conscious effort to burn the evidence. All I can say is I had more hair, it was darker and I was a stick (6' 155lbs). I can't remember. Did we have Toni in Spartan Village ?
Yes, Toni was with us in Spartan Village. Along with that stray cat we found I think.

You may as well post it here as we are all watching this thread if Rico doesn't mind.
