So I brought a cool keyboard home and have been recording some fun music for the RPG and stuff. And then in the middle of doing all sorts of stuff- I made a silly song that I thought you might enjoy. I call it
TURKEY FEN
Let me know what you think.
Everything is keyboard, multi tracks... hehehehe
http://www.christrocks.com/forum/turkeyfen.mp3 (http://www.christrocks.com/forum/turkeyfen.mp3)
Geek RAVE! Someone pass me a glow stick!
I love it Rick! Great job. What's with "Turkey Fen"? :D
That's wild. Mind if I use a little of it on a podcast sometime Rick? I'll be sure to credit the creator - of course!
Jen- the only words on the keyboard that were sampled sounded like tur, key and fen. and then the numbers. So I put on a loop and used the keyboard voices. I got a laugh out of it, because I was wishing for Treks in Sci Fi sampled on it.
So Rico- feel free. I actually have a little surprise for you that I'm sending today. When you get it in your inbox, let me know what you think.
and remember.
TURKEY FEN!
I thought you recorded the words for the song and added a filter to make it sound electronic. Too funny! Isn't there a chemical in turkey that starts with "fen"? I heard it makes you sleepy. :D
That would have made the song..
Trip toe Fane!
:)
Nice.. this makes me want to get up and dance.
We need some Rico dancing for the video
So, I spent the weekend recording some songs. I thought I would share a couple. If you want anymore stuff like this just email me and I will try and get you some others. This is just a little diddy called plasma2
http://www.clfgraysharbor.com/songs/plasma2.mp3 (http://www.clfgraysharbor.com/songs/plasma2.mp3)
Let me know what you think. I'm using a Korg Triton LE and a Roland digital piano.
I don't know if he is still on the air but there was a weekly star-gazing show on PBS (I think). Your music reminds me of the show theme.
Some of it reminds me of the Soundtrack from Mass Effect. These are wonderful Rick. Thanks for doing them. :)
So when I was a kid, Buck Rogers in the 25th Century was a real hit for me. One of my all time favorite scenes is where Buck gets the band to play some cool music in the pilot episode.
here is my tribute to Buck's dance with the Princess.
http://www.clfgraysharbor.com/songs/tributetobuck.mp3 (http://www.clfgraysharbor.com/songs/tributetobuck.mp3)
So much fun!
bidy bidy bidy bidy bad Rick
That's great Rick! Loved it!
I lloved Buck Rogers when i was akid, i must have been around 10 when it aired in England, plus i seemed to like Col. Deering. According to IMDB they used props from Battlestar.
So Jen had a melody that she had written and she sent it to me on an mp3. She played the violin.. nice! I took it and made it into a free style piano, violin and french horn tune.
Please, take a listen and let me know what you think.
http://www.clfgraysharbor.com/songs/sevrylltheme2.mp3 (http://www.clfgraysharbor.com/songs/sevrylltheme2.mp3)
Very nice. Jen, can you send me the violin score ? I would like to add a 2nd violin part.

Thanks. :) But Rick actually added all the life to it.
I learned to play the fiddle by ear. I don't read music, so I didn't write it down... I just recorded myself playing the melody that I created and sent it to Rick to finish for me. :)
He was using the synthesizer for the violin part, but it would be cool to hear some parts of the finished piece played with a violin.
Very Nice job Both Jen and Rick
pretty cool, guys. :) It has kind of a spacey Celtic feel to it.
Very nice
So here is an interesting little theme that I played around with.
I used an orchestra setting and then played with french horn, oboe and piano tones.
The beginning reminded me of the old "Beef, its what's for dinner" commercial. Don't ask me why!
Anyway, take a listen and let me know what you think.

There you go!
Great cheers Rick :)
So we were going through some boxes today and found a recording I did for a friend of mine in his studio. He usually writes for hard rock bands, but wanted to do a sappy love song. So he called me up. He wrote this song years ago and invited me to come sing it in the studio. So I spent 13 hours on it. We had a blast but my throat was pretty raw afterwards. I even played piano on it and did all my own back up vocals. Pretty fun. It's a love song... :wub
It's called Another chance at Heaven.
Check it out and let me know what you think. It's very early 90's.

You've got to check out Ricks Rat Tag Fugitive Fleet song, think its on page 2. I love that.
I wrote a new song tonight. I was kind of feeling sad, so I wanted to do something to make me relax...
here you go, it's called release...
http://www.christrocks.com/forum/release.mp3 (http://www.christrocks.com/forum/release.mp3)
Very ambient trance Rick, i like it.
I don't think I've ever heard that before. I like it. ambient trance. dude.
:)
Thank you, for some reason this piece really moved me.
Reminded me of the orb, or orbital. Cool stuff, keep it coming. :)
I had to test my new studio stuff out.
So here you go. Angels we have heard on high, with my guitar, several tracks of both guitar, vocals, keyboards and fun.
Enjoy, and let me know what you think! Merry Christmas!

Great job on the song Rick, that is great your new recording equipment and computer are working out for you.
As you know Rick me old mate I'm not a religious person but I have to say this song is beautiful, totally, totally beautiful. Well done.
Bravo Rick! I love it. Thank you for sending it to me.
Let me know when you want to try a female vocalist as a back up singer. :)
Awesome rendition Rick. I love Christmas music and I really love it when artists give classic songs a modern twist.
Love it!
Thanks you guys!
I am digging this set up!
Hey Rick,
Just listened to your last two tunes Release and Angels we have heard.
In "Release" it sounds like you have a theme for the RPG drama there. Very nice feel. I love that we both use the Korg Trident instrument, it has a unmistakable sound in it's Combo patches.
"Angels we have heard" is a great contemporary arrangement and is very heart felt. Kinda welled up when I listened to it pal. Very nicely done.
New studio setup? Would than include any of the gift I sent you some months back? That would be great news. I so wanted to make a difference for you in that area.
Play on Rick!,
Rob
Here is another one I did last night.
Do you hear what I hear?

Merry Ho Ho.
Nicely done again Rick but boy would I have loved to work on Emmanuel with ya. I could have added some really good stuff to it. God I wish I could sing!
Rob
yeah, I'm just having some fun working the bugs out of my system. I got a new computer that is a lot faster and then I got the keyboard from ebay. I have to get a manual for it though, cause a lot of it is over my head! :)
It's fun to create, as you know!
Rob tweaked with the song I did, added some nice keyboard stuff, and it is a vast improvement... take a listen.. wow, thanks TAN RU!
http://www.christrocks.com/forum/emmanuel-tanrumix.mp3 (http://www.christrocks.com/forum/emmanuel-tanrumix.mp3)
wow.
Cool, tunes, very coooooool tunes.
I love them. :)
So, Rob (Tan-Ru) emails me this morning with this great arrangement for the Christmas song, it's jazzy and very cool sounding. So, I added the main vocals, the harmonies, sent it back to him for a keyboard solo, VERY FUN! He does all this music on his computer and synth. Very cool.
Ok here you go take a listen and let us know what you think!
Merry Christmas everybody!

Love that instrumental mix. Good vocals too, but I really enjoyed the keyboard work.
That's all Rob, and he smokes on the keys... :)
Cool, with a capital COOOOOOOLLLLLLLL.
Wanna space out a bit?
I was working on some music tonight, and wrote this little diddy. An instrumental called "Right Angle" Close your eyes, crank the headphones, and cross over.
