Title: Two iPODs - one computer?
Post by: Rico on February 23, 2008, 09:44:05 AM
Has anyone ever put two iPODs on one PC? (Not a Mac).  My current iPOD is kind of dying (doesn't want to hold a charge very well anymore).  Thinking of getting another sometime.  I was wondering if anyone has ever tried to have two different iPOD devices running on one PC?

It works.  Itunes recognizes two unique Ipods.  And they can be synced differently so long as they recognize your computer as the "main" one.

Yup. I've also done it. I've had an old 3G ipod and a 2G ipod nano connected to my computer at the same time. Plus, one is PC formatted and the other is Mac formatted. It all plays fine together.

(However, I have all my ipods set to Manually Manage music, so they're not auto-synching.)

(oops! Just noticed that you said "not a mac".  Mine's a Mac. Anyway....)

Thats excellent chaps. I'm gonna be in the market for an ipod video soon and was worried It might not synch with itunes. I currently have an old ipod classic 30GB. It's good to know I can keep both working if required. Cheers guys
