The star of Jaws, Blue Thunder and SeaQuest DSV was 75.

That's a bit of a shock. I always really enjoyed his work in the movies and on "Seaquest" too. RIP Roy, you will be missed.
Sad news, enjoyed his work in movies and Seaquest as well.
I really enjoyed Seaquest when it was on. This is sad news.
Roy was a great actor. I remember the first time I saw him on Seaquest and I thought.. no way! After the first few minutes I loved him! He will be very missed. How sad.
RIP Roy.

:'( :'( :'(
I loved the actor more for what he did in Seaquest DSV than Jaws. Jaws was....meh. Oh well. Just me
Goodbye man. :'( :'(
King
I saw Jaws as a kid in the theater and it scared the living daylights out of me.. After seeing that movie I was fearful of pools and lakes and I still have issues with the ocean because of it.
I can see how watching Jaws and living in SoCal could affect you as a kid. I saw It too many times and still hate clowns to this day.
Jaws freaked me out as a kid, and at times I was even frightend to take a shower, as I would have visions of Sharks coming out of the tap. Even today, sometimes when I travel, and use foreign showers or baths, I get images of Sharks in my head. I picked up Jaws a few years back on a remastered DVD, and it looked fantastic, and I find it an enjoyable movie to watch. I think it will be a movie that will transfer well to HD format someday.
We're gonna need a bigger coffin.
I say that will all respect to Roy and his wonderful career, have to try and inject a bit of levity into situations like this. I LOVED Jaws but like Kenny I grew up near the ocean and this movie hurt the ocean going experience for a while. The French Connection is one of best cop movies EVER made. Lots of others...Blue Thunder, Marathon Man, The Russia House etc. I loved Seaquest DSV and I will mourn the fact that we lost an actor of his caliber.
Very Sad

I am a clown. Do you hate me????
Whoa -- this has been one of the worst two weeks I can remember. He was one of my favorite actors - loved him in 2010.
Only have the seen about 15 minutes of Jaws.

This is an old thread. Roy died about a year and a half ago back in Feb. of 2008.
HOLY CRAP!?! Man, what is it with this summer? Farrah, Michael Jackson, Ed Mcmahon, and now this?!? WTF?!?

Read above please. He died over a year and a half ago. I'm not sure what stirred this old thread up.
