Title: Router Recommendations
Post by: jedijeff on February 04, 2008, 09:08:26 AM
Hi All

Does anyone have any advice on a good cable/dsl router for home. I recently started using a dlink DI-624 I bought last year, and to be honest, it is so bad with resetting itself, that I am not going to bother calling tech support on it. The frustrating this is that it is doing it on wired PC's. I had upgraded the firmware on the weekend, and that still did not resolve the problem. I looked around on the net, and it seems a lot of people have the same issue I do, with different models and the same model with it resetting itself. I had a linksys, which I had for 5 years, which never gave me the problems this one does, the only reason I upgraded was the linksys was not wireless. If anyone has suggestions on what they are using, would love to hear them.

Thanks

Jeff

Hi Jeff!

I am using a Netgear wireless router WGR614 v7 for the house since around Christmas time and haven't had any problems with it. It is fast and was easy to set up.  We have four laptops, two desktops and a PSP, and they all like it. :)  Oh, the Wii works great on it too!

I've had 3 linksys WRT54G. They last a few years each then you go buy another.

Had a Linksys for a very long time.  8 port wired and I have a wireless Linksys box plugged into that.  All work pretty well.
