Jeff or Kenny or others....
You guys buying the 12" Star Wars figures from Sideshow? This new "A New Hope" Luke went up for preorder yesterday. Looks pretty cool. Got my preorder in.

Yep, my dad and I buy most, if not all the 12" figures from sideshow. It's always been something my dad and I did since I was a kid ( buy toys), now I am 30 and doing the same still :)
The pre-order stuff is a pain but I manage to get on-line in time to get them. Most people pre-order and then end up on Ebay 10 minutes later.
This figure looks really nice. I just wish they did 12" Star Trek. That would be the best!
I've gotten most of them so far myself. It's a nice line. Just wish they were just more around $35 - 45 instead of about $60+ each.
I am planning on getting the Luke and Han that are coming out. I just buy them from esellers in Canada instead of directly from Sideshow, as it is cheaper for shipping. I like how Sideshow handles exclusives, as I never feel like I have missed out by not getting the exclusive version.
They are definetly an investment. The exclusives you can turn around for a fast profit. People even ask that you keep the original shipping box that says "Sideshow Toy". I think that's funny....
I think the shipping box is just a good, tight fit for protecting the regular box (although I save most other boxes, these shippers I haven't). All the ones I have gotten are the "exclusives." Why how much more do they sell for afterwards normally?

Well we buy doubles and sell one of them and keep the other. Depending on which exclusive it is, it can be 25%-50% higher than a non-exclusive. It just depends on the popularity of the figure and what makes it exclusive. If you are opening the figures to me the exclusives are not worth the extra time trying to get them for per-orders. If you sell them I would say always get the exclusives.
Is it just me or does the rifle seem to be in the shape of a witches broom? It seems oddly out of proportion from what i remember of it but I guess I'd have to see the episode again. Otherwise it is a pretty nice figure.

I am still buying the 12" Sideshow Star War Sideshow figs. Not every one, by far, but I've got a few and look forward to each release.
The latest one I got, the Old Ben, is, by far, the best 12" figure in my collection. Where most of Sideshow's previous releases have had production paint which was a disappointment, this release gave us a production figure which matched the quality of the prototype in the solicitation photos. Other recent releases, Asajj and Boushh, were also high-points in the line.
I passed on the ANH Luke figure for a few reasons, mostly because I've got the Jedi Luke already, and the new $70 price was just too much, for me.
I am waiting for a Stormtrooper or a CloneTrooper. So far I only have 1 Anakin / Vader. If they didn't cost so much I would try & get them all. Of course if they were cheaper they wouldn't be as cool..
