Title: And another thing
Post by: Geoff G.o.B on January 11, 2008, 12:49:17 AM
Seems I'm on a trek inspired roll at the moment

7 seasons of TNG, how many times did they actually go where no man/woman has gone before? Every episode it starts with old cue ball himself saying they are going where no man has gone before and yet invairably they are at a planet droping off supplies, patrolling the neutral zone, at a space station/outpost, looking for a missing ship etc

I'm not sure I've once heard him say "captains log, I have no idea where we are, we are off the map"

Moi too much coffee?  :confused

:D

Hummm, well they did get blasted into the Delta Quadrant and they met the Borg thanks to Q. They also met the Ferengi for the first time... they discovered that the universe was seeded by a single civilization and they met several strange aliens who lived in the emptiness of space—one of which became Troi's son and died. That was a sad episode.  :'(

am I getting confused or didn't Picard meet them when he took command of the Stargazer, didn't they attack the Stargazer and he destroyed them. That led to the episode with the mind control device and the old wreck of the Stargazer?

Well technically that may have been the first encounter but it was an "unknown ship" which was later identified as Ferengi. First contact wasn't made at that point.
