Title: Twilight Zone intrupted by wrestling
Post by: space_invader64 on January 04, 2008, 06:29:35 PM
One of my favorite things about New Years Eve/Day is the Twilight Zone marathon.  I was very supprised to see that this year's marathon would be intrupted by ECW.

I used to be a wrestling fan and I still am when they put on something good to watch.  The WWE programming has gotten really bad.  The Scifi Channel has also not been doing that great.  So why is ECW on Scifi in the first place?

When I first saw Scifi, I was thrilled to see shows like friday the 13th the series, tales from the crypt, the twilight zone, quantom leap, amazing stories, sliders, the increditable hulk, mystery science theater, and the list goes on.  Lately stargate is on almost every time I turn it on.  I'm not a Stargate basher, I'm sure a lot of people enjoy the show I just never got into it and what I've seen didn't seem to do it for me.

I do however think the Twilight Zone is the a nice thing to look forward to and a good way to enjoy New Years.  It seems like they have been doing for several years.

Even during busy years, I still at least try to catch one or two episodes.

I can't stand wrestling. I turn the channel as soon as it comes on (used to follow the last Enterprise episode) on Sci-Fi. Did you know that these wrestling people hired soap opera writers to script their  shows? They're "soaps" for men. The Sci-Fi Channel must be doing poorly to start airing this instead of The Twilight Zone.

Add to the fact SciFi messed up the time slots.  ECW - what can we come up with for the abbreviation ?   Go ahead - be mean.

I agree Jen.. I was never a fan of wrestling and was very disappointed to here that SCI FI added that programing to it's line up. I mean I do understand that men normally watch the Sci Fi channel and men enjoy wrestling but there is so much great sci fi and fantasy out there and I would like a sci fi channel to be that... just sci fi programing. Oh well...

Who's joining me to watch the Twilight Zone Marathon? I loved these shows growing up although they always creeped the heck out of me. I think they're better than watching horror movies. It's all in the mind! Won't be able to watch till tomorrow night into Sunday but it still counts.

Any favorites? The "Talking Tina" episode definitely creeps me out the most about the little doll that kicks Telly Savalas's butt! I also love the mannequin one where the woman has no idea she's really a mannequin. Then there's the one where Burgess Meredith survives the nuclear bomb and just wants to read. So many good ones!

Happy New Years Everyone!

PS. Years ago, there used to be a store called Zayer's in Concord, NH (turned into Ame's, then Bradleys). Well there was a male mannequin who looked just like Rod Serling and it used to creep me out everytime I saw it.  :o
