Title: Bicentennial Man
Post by: moyer777 on January 01, 2008, 11:56:40 AM
Nathan and I are watching Bicentennial Man.

Is it just me, or is it a very cool movie?   It has all the elements in it to make it heart warming, science fiction and just plain cool.

What did you think about the movie?

The robots are cool - destroy all humans!
Still, it deals more with the human condition. I liked the way the movie shifted gears midway through. Very thought provoking.

I enjoyed the film; I think it got unjustly panned by fanboys and critics.  I think what rubbed folks the wrong way was the fact that it didn't follow the typical blockbuster film formula, and was therefore difficult to market- it was too "touchy-feely" for folks looking for a plain ol', sci-fi action film, and "too sci-fi" for the typical drama movie crowd.

This was the movie with Robin Williams right?  I loved this movie.  I was familiar with the story but I had never read it. The movie wasn't what I had thought it would but it was fabulous.  Moyer's review is spot on.  heart warming, sc-fi and very cool.

I think you will really enjoy this one Kenny.  I cried twice in it when Nathan and I watched it.  It was moving, but way futuristic too.

Great flick.
