Mind you this is just my opinion and a suggestion.
If Taking Wing is basically the January Book of the Month, so to speak, then I propose that the next list of contenders for February should be already up for voting and voting should end a week before the end of the current book. That way you don't have any lag time trying to figure out what to read next and everyone can move on to the next book without delay (that is presuming that a week is enough time to locate the next book). In other words, while we are discussing Taking Wing the votes for the next book will be cast for a few weeks instead of a few days.

Not a bad idea at all.
We can put up a poll sooner, but the lag time this last time between the first book and the next was intentional for a couple of reasons. The main one being the holidays. The second being some seemed to not be quite done with the last book. But we can speed up the process the next time.
I prefer the lag. It gives us a short break in between the two books.
