Did a few forum tweaks today gang. Installed a new colorful theme. You can tweak it a bit (colors, width, etc.) using the upper right corner buttons. I also made the music player into a pop up (see menu choice at left). I think this works much better. You can listen to the various songs and not get reset when you switch forum sections, posts, etc. Added a few new songs too. Hope you all enjoy the changes.

I'm sorry but I have to get this off my chest.
I think this site looked way cooler when I first came here with the black background. Being in the computer industry I know there is something called the "baby duck syndrome" where people like the first thing they see or use but I think this goes beyond that.

I have to say that I also probably liked the way it was better too but I have gotten used to the new look. It's pretty easy on the eyes. I think that what would work best is if the old skin was available as an option for those who prefer it.

Just to let you guys know, I like to change things up now and then for two reasons. One, it keeps things fun and interesting. Two, it keeps the majority of people pleased. For everyone that likes a certain look another will like a different one. Of course I do have to mention my own personal tastes play a part in this, since I do run the site. The last thing I will say is you can continue to expect changes in the future.
Personally functionality is way more important to me than the look. Rico always takes care to include/add features that improve or maintain the functionality and features that I use and enjoy on this site. As far as the look goes the only important thing I think sometimes gets forgotten is the use of the fantastic "Spock with Ipod" logo which in my opinion is so funny, original and memorable, that it should always be prominantly featured somewhere on the main page of the forums and the main blog page. As our community gets bigger and bigger I think that logo is a touchstone that should be used whenever it can.
Is there a tweak when I click "quote" it will bring up the full screen I get when I click "reply" ? That little quote box makes it hard to work with large quotes.
Umm, something I want to suggest is that the messages don't have the "Reply to All" button and I'd personally like to have that back. Makes things go much faster.
