Title: Treksf Skype Christmas party ideas
Post by: moyer777 on December 14, 2007, 12:13:29 PM
So, to elaborate from the Shout box,

What do you think Rico?   A Skype Christmas party on a Saturday afternoon, or a Sunday evening?  Wouldn't that be fun?  Maybe on 22nd or 23rd?

We can make a half hour or so and some of my thoughts were...

We can give each other virtual gifts--  No limit on spending since we don't actually spend any money.  That way we could really give each other what we want.  :)

Favorite holiday memories.

We could all bring virtual Christmas goodies... (cookies, fudge, etc) and not gain one pound!  SWEEET!

We could sing some carols or do some fun stuff, share what we are all doing for the holidays...

What do you all think?  What do you think Rico?

Shall we deck the halls with Treks in sci fi, fa la la la la la la la la?

A good idea.  I'm not sure who will we get on those dates.  I'm leaning towards Saturday, Dec. 22nd.  Have to be about 12 noon EST as I have plans later that day.  Let me think on it.  If that date and time works for folks, post here so I can get an idea of who can come.

I think I can swing that too. I love the "virtual gift" ideas and the "Christmas memories". I'll try to get Angela to attend too.

I may be driving from Toronto to Montreal (5 hours!) but if I'm around I can try and make it.

It sounds cool to me!  I'm not sure how skype works, though.  :ohwell

All I need is a PC microphone and some downloadable skype software, right?

Works for me!  Keep it saturday and I'll convince my dad to keep from working me. ;)  I might be able to get them to participate but then again, I'm a bit of trekkie and they aren't so much.  Maybe it will convince them that what I do on the forums is actually worth something.

Wraith, a usb mic and speakers would work...might want to pick up a usb headset with a mic (logitec has a good one). Then just download Skype. :)

yeah I would also suggest getting a headset with mic (you can get a cheap one and they work farily well)... it's tough on a skype calls when people just use there computer speakers and you hear all the feedback.

Agree.  I use a bit of a funky setup however where my video-camera is the mic.  Its because I'm too lazy to go out and by a new headset.  :(
