Title: THE DANGERS OF PAINTBALLING
Post by: Trekkygeek on December 04, 2007, 12:39:13 PM
Last weekend, my company took us all out for the annual paintball competition. My team won five games to one and I hardly got shot and only hurt once or twice.....Until the penultimate game. I was defending the fortress and thought I had got away with it when I got shot point blank in the head. Ouch. As you can see from the photo, It is discreetly placed,  ;) and absolutley no one has given me funny glances at all and definately no one has poked fun at this lovely wound. Remember guys, It's tough out there. ;D

Ouch! My brother has a permanent scar on his leg from one such attack...it looks just like yours only it looks sort of tan. Were you wearing a mask Trekkygeek?  ::)

Ouch, that must have stung.  I know my youngest brother wants to play paintball really bad.  My opinion, I don't feel like getting hurt that badly.

Jen, my mask finished just below that mark. Sods Law. As for the pain? Trust me, It is so much fun that the worst thing about it is just waiting for that first hit. That trepidation really pumps up the adrenaline, and once you have been hit a couple of times, you just enjoy it. It stings for a little while but man it is so much fun. After the first round, I was so hot and my mask was steaming up so much that I took off a layer of clothing and the pain was not much more. When I arrived at the venue, I looked like Mr Staypuft.
Honestly, I really recommend paintball. It is great fun and quite a workout.

You sound like my brother!  :D
He competes in tournaments and really loves it. Billy wears a knit hat to protect his head...you might give that a try next time.
Ouch..I hope that mark doesn't remain there.

"Sods Law"... is that anything like "Murphy's law"?

Ouch that brings back memories.

Our church group used to go paint balling and I really enjoyed the chance to shoot people I went to church with!

At the end of the day we would just shoot eachother as many times as possible to burn up all the excess ammo we bought.  I would come home with red whelps all up and down my arms!
