Marsters Guests On Torchwood
Former Buffy the Vampire Slayer cast member James Marsters will guest-star on Torchwood, the Doctor Who spinoff series, when it returns to BBC America for a second season in January, the network announced.
Other guest stars include Alan Dale (Ugly Betty) and Doctor Who co-star Freema Agyeman, who will reprise the role of Martha Jones.
The second season of Torchwood debuts on BBC America on Jan. 26, 2008, at 9 p.m. ET/PT, not long after it premieres in the United Kingdom. Torchwood: The Complete First Season, meanwhile, goes on sale Jan. 22 in a seven-disc DVD set.
I loved season 1 and can't wait to start watching Season 2. Plus James Marsters is a great actor so it should be fun watching him with John Barrowman.
This is going to be great!!!!!
WOW! Can't wait!!
This intertwines with the end of Dr. Who by the way
Here are two more trailers.. the more I see of season two the more excited I am to see it.

The trailer says it will start showing on BBC America towards the end of January. So I'm guessing the UK won't get it much sooner than us for a change. Cool.
He-he wow BBCA is giving me an awsome belated birthday present!
This show looks pretty cool! When I heard that it was a spin-off of Dr. Who, I envisioned something a little more light and campy. I guess I'll have to add it to my "must watch" list. :thumbsup
Is the last season still running here in The States? What days?
Torchwood is the adult version of Doctor Who.. very dark in comparison to Doctor Who. I know season one is coming out on DVD in January.
Torchwood Back, With Marsters
James Marsters joins BBC America's Torchwood in its second-season premiere Jan. 26, fighting and "snogging" Captain Jack Harkness (John Barrowman). The new season of the Doctor Who spinoff kicks off at 9 p.m. ET/PT, the BBC announced.
Marsters (Buffy the Vampire Slayer) will play the charismatic-but-psychopathic Captain John Hart, a time agent who shares history with Captain Jack.
BBC America also released details of the season's next four episodes, which debut in the United States only a few days after they premiere in the United Kingdom.
In the subsequent installments, the Torchwood team faces alien sleeper cells that threaten the whole planet, Toshiko (Naoko Mori) falls for a handsome soldier trapped out of his time, Gwen's (Eve Myles) boyfriend Rhys (Kai Owen) discovers the truth about Torchwood, and a memory thief infiltrates Torchwood and uncovers long-forgotten secrets among the entire team.
In the course of the season, the team's members will journey to the 51st century and World War I, save a stranded creature from horrific abuse and come face to face with an entity that may well be Death itself.
Doctor Who' s Martha Jones (Freema Agyeman) teams up with Torchwood for three episodes. The season will also feature guest appearances by Alan Dale, Richard Briers, Ruth Jones and Nerys Hughes.
Can't wait! New TV from the land of no writers strike! Woo-hoo!

I know I'm very excited to see this next season.. James seemed liked a great addition to the season. And we also get three episodes with Martha, which will be awesome.
Just got done watching season two premiere. Overall a good episode and Star Wars is brought up in a Very Funny way. :spidey
Thanks for the heads up Spidey.. I didn't know it aired over in the UK already.
I saw it and loved it. James Marsters brought a new level to it and there were some really cool (and daring) scenes between him and Captain Jack. I think I'm really going to enjoy this season.
Wow.. just finished watching the first episode of the second season... so much character building in just one episode. All the characters seem better written. Loved the Star Wars reference.. very funny. Yes James Marsters character was one of those ones that you love to hate... I'm not not quite sure why they just didn't kill him.. I mean what he did to the torchwood team. But than again if they did he couldn't give Jack that bit a news at the very end. This looks to be an AWESOME season ahead.. can't wait.
I'm going to wait until BBC America has it on next weekend. Should be a lot of fun.
I don't think they could kill Marsters Kenny. The guy was great and it leaves it open for him to appear again. A character with that kind of magnetism can't go to waste. I also got the feeling that he wasn't all bad and that he may team up with Torchwood later.
As for the character development, you're right. This second season doesn't need to explore it too much, last season dealt with that. They just went straight in with the action and I think they found their feet. The next episode promises to be very dark and violent, I only hope that they deal with this aspect better this season. Season one seemed to be sweary, violent and saucy just for the sake of it. I am hoping it is dealt with a little more maturely. Great start though

I don't like watching on BBC America because they are edited for the US.
I loved it and I hope they don't change a thing. I loved season one for exactly the reasons that trekkygeek mentioned. I don't think they should change the formula too much because then it would be too much like Doctor Who and not deserving of a spinoff.
On another note has anyone been following the Sarah Jane show? I caught a few and think it's a great kids show, but I haven't went back for more.

Really?? Well, that's not right. Edited how? For time, content? All of them are edited down?? I watched them all via torrents last season because they aired so much earlier in the UK. I saw no content that I recall that would need to be cut for US TV.
They edit for language and adult situation.. I noticed the differences. Just because it's a BBC show and airs on BBC America it still have to be guided by the US FCC rules. That's why I prefer torrents over US broadcast.
Well crud. I guess it's off to the torrents I go. I might watch the first episode of season two from both places and compare.
Can't wait this looks really cool. This writer strike really sucks glad see somthing new that is not reality TV
Torchwood Season Two Coming To USA This Saturday
Just want to remind all our "Torchwood" fans that beginning with the new Season Two American audiences will no longer have to wait a full season before watching Captain Jack and his crew fight the evil aliens slipping through the rift.
Beginning Saturday, January 26th, BBC America will begin airing Season Two of Torchwood at 9:00PM EST.
Just finished watching season two episode two.. all I have to say is WOW... the writing is 200 times better this season, so powerful and engaging.. the acting, the camera work, the music.. everyone has stepped up their game. I know it's only been two episodes.. but man this season is starting off great.
BTW.. tonight was the premiere of Torchwood Season Two on BBCAmerica.
Yeah this second one was good too
Just finished the sixth episode of the second season of Torchwood.. it's called Reset and introduces Martha.. all I have to say is WOW.... what a shocker at the end.
I was impressed with the entire season and can't wait for the next one!

I agree. It especially took off about the middle episodes when Martha dropped in. The last half of the season had some really great episodes. Some very emotional stuff!
I will be the first to admit that I got emotional with each episode after martha showed.
Just watched the last three episodes of season two... this was such a great season. As others have said a very emotional season. And of course the ending and losing two main characters.. wow.. Owen didn't effect me as much as Toshika.. maybe because Owen died in my middle of the season.. I really like Toshika and it was hard to see her go. Not sure what they are going to do for the third season now that there are only three members lefts of Torchwood.. I guess will see some new faces.
Does anyone know why the cut the cast down?
Not a clue, but the rumors were that Mickey and Martha would be joining the cast of series three. Now that Freema has been signed to a non-Doc Who show, I doubt the validity of those rumors.
Just came across this.. it's pretty funny..
Season Two Bloopers
OMG that was GREAT! John Barrowman is silly...
