I think it's new Kenny.
Yeah, I posted about it in another thread:

I already created a profile there under the name "Master Sevryll" :)
Oh I thought you were talking about the Official Star Wars site.. didn't know it was on yahoo.. I have to check it out..
Yep, they're pairing up.
This is Yahoo though - not Star Wars.com Basically they are just linking to a lot of content on Starwars.com. Which is a bit weird to me. It's not like they need the added publicity or coverage.
On the Force Cast they are reporting the Star Wars.com beta is the yahoo.starwars.com site.
Well - that's really, really bizarre. Why would they do that? Is that maybe just what the Forcecast is calling it? It looks more like a SW fan community site. Not the main site for a mega-franchise like SW. Frankly I think the Yahoo SW thing is way to cluttered. It's like Star Wars/myspace. :luke
Well, according to the ForceCast that's what starwars.com was trying for—more of a community site. Soon they'll have a podcast to go with it...at least that's the plan. The hosts on the ForceCast seemed to think the yahoo.starwars site is the new SW site in disguise. I can't say whether they're correct or not.
And I agree with you, not real sure I like this design. It's too much...all bells and whistle and no content to speak of. Of course, it's still a beta.
I had looked through the site when Jen had posted it back a few weeks ago. I agree with Rico, it is a bit to cluttered for my tastes. If they do a fan community site, I hope they still run the main star wars site as well, to be honest I am not a real big fan of mixing the two. When it comes to sites like Star Wars or Star Trek, I like to know I can go to the site, and get official information, and the information presented in a more traditional way. I find some of these community sites are great, but I also find that a lot of them use a lot of Trendy web 2.0 apps, which sometimes seem like flavor of the month.
