My wife got me an acrylic case for my B-day for my MR Enterprise. Is was a little to expensive at the time (actually, it still is, but it sure looks cool!). I went to Home Depot and bought a remote control for the light. It works great. Now I don't have to lift that heavy case everytime I want to turn it on. You just point the remote click, and she's lit up. I just thought I'd suggest it to anyone else with or without a case, the remote is neat.
That sounds cool. Could you show us a picture of it? Lit and unlit?
THat would rock.
How about some pictures
I'll try to get some pics up soon.
When I put mine in the case, I ran the wire out a very small hole under the base and outside the case leaving the switch on the base in the on position. Now I just plug it in to light it up. No way was I going to lift up that case every time I wanted to light her up. May rig the plug into my basement X10 lighting as well sometime.
Umm, minor confusion, but what Enterprise are we talking about? Otherwise it sounds cool.

OOhhhhhhh. Right, I remember that podcast that you talked about it. Very very nice! Would have prefered the E myself (if there is one), but that one is just as cool.

I took some video. The quality is not very good, but you can kind of see the remote at work.
That is truly a thing of beauty! I like the spinning effect on the bussard collectors; very nice!
Was there a lot of re-wiring involved to get the lights to respond to the remote?
That is really cool. Thanks for taking the video. What an awesome idea with the remote control and everything. Very nice!
No the remote was really easy. It was $10 at Home Depot. It's a little box you plug into the outlet (or in my case surge protector). You then turn on the ship and plug it into the Home Depot box and instant remote Enterprise. Now I can sit on my bed, click it on, and I'm in nerd heaven!
Very cool
