Growing up in Michigan, we had The Ghoul and Sir Graves Ghastly. Both were on Saturdays. SGG was 12-2pm and mostly for the kiddies. I think this was the first time I saw The Mummy. The Ghoul was on late night (11:30 back then). I'm pretty sure I saw Psycho and couldn't take a shower for months. We also this guy Count Scarey for a while but the show was short-lived. His line "Ooooooo, that's scarey". Kind of a vampire version of Jerry Lewis. He was really funny.
Anyone else have these kind of shows either now or when you were young ?
Hilarious House of Frightenstien FTW!
Wow - still some fans out there.
The Ghoul late night guy was at the recent Comic Con in May that Mark and I were at. He still looks the same.
When I was a teenager growing up in Madison, Wisconsin one of the local TV shows had a hosted horror/sci-fi show on called Lenny's Inferno. It was sponsored by Crazy TV Lenny who had those awful late night stereo store bargains. The host was a guy by the name of Dick Flanagan who dressed up as a ghoulish character called Mr. Mephisto. I have very fond memories of watching that show every Friday night at Midnight, which technically I guess would be Saturday morning. I never missed a week from when it debuted in September of 1969 until sometime in 1974 when I turned 18 and left home. Here is a cool pic of the dude:

If you want to see a list of all the cool movies I was exposed to over those four years here is a complete list:

I guess some cities still have a late night show like this but as far as I know the Dallas, TX area, where I currently live, does not. Of how I miss those simpler days!

In Chicago , We had the Son of Svengoolie every weekend. He was part comedy and part scary. They played some really good horror pix and some really really bad ones. :spidey

That was part of the fun! It didn't matter to me if the film was really bad because it was just so campy and amusing to me. I think the reason the Myster Science Theater went over so well is because we were so much like the cast as we watched these old B and C flicks.

One movie I remember was about these disembodied brains. I think at first they were invisible. Futurama did a similar idea. Anyone remember the name of that one ?

I believe you are referring to The Brain That Wouldn't Die (1962). Here is the IMDB description:
