Title: TOS question...
Post by: markinro on October 10, 2007, 03:51:40 AM
Ok, all you geeky fans.  What is General Order 4 from the episode "Turnabout Intruder".  Is it like the Omega 13 from Galaxy Quest (i.e. no one really knows) ?

That mention of G.O. #4 in the episode is probably an error.  It refers to the only death penalty charge in Star Fleet.  Prior to that, in the first season it's referred to as General Order # 7, which is the death penalty if you visit Talos IV.  So either they swapped the numbers or there is another death penalty G.O.

Oh, by the time of TNG there were no longer any death penalties left on the books.

Wasn't there a Starfleet general order regarding the self-destruction of a ship when threatened with being captured by a hostile force?
