I have to admit I watched this premiere because it was on before Heroes and it looked somewhat interesting. After it was over I enjoyed it enough to watch the next episode.. it didn't blow me away. I did like the mix of comedy and action. Some of the fighting scenes were great and the action scenes where fun too. I look forward to seeing where this show goes. It has one of my favorite guys Adam Baldwin.. I'd watch just for him. So a pretty good Monday night lineup for NBC.
I watched the first episode of this last night finally (in HD!) and really liked it a lot. It's a lot of fun and the lead guy Chuck isn't a total geek/loser so that's refreshing. He kind of stands up for himself a few times in the episode. And the scene with the ballerina girl was sweet. I like the female lead actress too. Now the whole premise is absurd but if you can get past that this show should be a fun time.

Isn't that true of most good comedy?
SPOILER:
I just find it funny that they used a Pornado to crash the laptop

Not really. Most comedies are not centered around a guy that saw a bunch of pictures on a PC monitor and now has pretty much every secret known to US intelligence in his head. That's the premise I was talking about. I think this is one of those crossover action/comedy/drama type shows. Still think it has a lot of charm. One thing I kept thinking though is how current will all the "secrets" in Chuck's head be in say a couple of months? It's like news headlines from 2 months ago. Won't his knowledge become quickly obsolete without new info being pumped in?

Possibly but I think part of his brain is also acting as a form of decrypter sorting out the data and making new connections. I'm sure the Current event value will drop, but be made up for in the "connect these two random bits of recent history and get a 3rd new idea from them".
Short of that they might have to do a "new infusion or something like that....

I was thinking the exact same thing and for whatever reason that was the thing about the show that kind of bugged me most. I did think it was somewhat funny. The plays on BestBuy and the super warehouse stores was pretty spot on. As long as they continue to do a good job with the tongue in cheek approach I'll continue watching this. The whole premise is absurd but at least it's different from the normal garbage on network TV.

OMG - Anyone catch the Lost reference in 10/1 show ?
Watching last night's episode now. Producer: Robert Duncan McNeill, Voyager's Tom Paris
He's keeping himself busy. He directed the season premiere of Las Vegas.
Just heard the Lost reference, Rico.
Watched show # 2 tonight. Show is still ok. Fun but it's not quite grabbing me yet. I'll keep watching but the format of the show just seems a bit limited.

Thanks. I couldn't remember where the name was from. At first, I thought it was Doogie Howser
Unless some major changes occur with this show I don't see it making it. Like Rico I will continue watching it for the next few weeks but if it doesn't improve I'll drop it from my viewing list. I'd rather watch my Star Trek DVDs anyway!

Just watched the second episode.. still fun but like other's have said..not a must see for me yet. I'll continue to watch but if I miss an episode I won't be too upset...
BTW.. I did catch the nod to Lost.. that was cool.
I think part of the problem is the show doesn't seem to know if it wants to be a comedy or drama/action show. That's a hard line to walk. It just seems to be a bit too silly and goofy right now. At the same time someone is in danger each episode. Like the rest of you, I'll keep watching for a bit and see how it goes. I guess I like the straight up silliness of The Big Bang Theory and for action/drama there is a lot of other stuff to see.
I think the conflict between Casey and Sarah is going to get old real fast. Also, how many Nerd Herd cars can they wreck before that gets tiring? At this point I think the casting is fine but the writing is going to have to get way better for this show to survive. If it continues on it's present course I bet the plug is pulled mid-season.

Got this from the Ask Ausiello Report.... sounds promising.
Question: I love Chuck! Now that I've gotten that out in the open, can you spill some secrets?â€" Heather
Ausiello: I want to love Chuck. Really, I do. But the first two setup-heavy episodes left me a little unsatisfied. The good news? I've seen next Monday's episode and now I love Chuck, too! It's the best episode by far, which is great news because it revolves around Chuck's first official mission and is essentially the template for the show. In addition to being funny, romantic and suspenseful, it features Zachary Levi doing the tango with the last person you'd ever expect (hint: GLAAD will be, um, glad).
Sounds promising. Definitely keep watching a couple more and see how this goes.
Maybe the weekly destruction of Nerd Herd vehicles is Robert Duncan McNeill's nod to Voyager and its weekly shuttlecraft loss.
Chuck Spies Full-Season Pickup
NBC has ordered a full season of its freshman spy series Chuck, giving a green light to the final nine episodes of the first season, Variety reported.
The order was among the first for the network, which is currently seeing the effects of the ongoing writers' strike.
Chuck, starring Zachary Levi as a big-box-store computer geek who's accidentally implanted with government secrets, has posted the best numbers among all of NBC's new shows. To date, Chuck has averaged a 3.4 rating/9 share among adults 18-49. The show also stars Adam Baldwin, Yvonne Strahovski, Joshua Gomez and Sarah Lancaster.
There's no word yet on orders for NBC's other freshman SF series, Bionic Woman and Journeyman. Chuck airs Mondays at 8 p.m. (NBC is owned by NBC Universal, which also owns SCIFI.COM.)
Yay!!!!!!
Thats all I have to say ;)

This is great news. I really enjoy the show, as does my family.
Go Chuck!
Happy about that, but don't they need writers and scripts??
Yeah I didn't quite understand that either Rico.. I think the pick up is good news. If the writer strikes ends soon will see more Chuck if not I think this proves that it will be back for a second season.
