Title: Superman/Doomsday
Post by: Dan M on September 18, 2007, 06:29:49 PM
Just finished watching it.  It was GREAT!

Yes, as we knew they'd have to, they took a machete to the return.  More accurately they wrote a different return.  And it totally worked.

Justice League level writing, with better animation.  All the voice actors were great (unlike Brainiac Attacks).

I hope subsequent DCU Animated stories are this good.

Nathan, Andrew and I journeyed to walmart fall apart last night.  We bought the DVD of Doomsday, brought it home and watched it.

I actually liked it.  The kids seemed to enjoy it too.  :)

Good animation, cool storyline.  It was pretty action packed.

I give it a B+  :superman

Really Mark?  I'm surprised you thought that.  I loved it.  Great action and story I thought.  I had read the comics that this story was based off of and they of course changed things a bit but it all worked for me.  The animation I thought was very well done.  I really liked the Supes/Lois stuff too.  Hope they do more DC stuff like the Marvel guys have been doing with their animated films to DVD.  I'd love to see another animated Batman movie.

Just watched this tonight and I have to say I enjoyed this animated film far more than the lame SUPERMAN RETURNS with Brandon Routh. Why can't they write this kind of story for the live action films? If this was done as a live action film it would probably be the biggest selling Superman film of all time.

I agree Kevin.  Great action, good story and some fine character stuff with Clark and Lois.  While I did enjoy "Superman Returns" I know they can do much better.

I enjoyed the acting and a lot of moments in Superman Returns, but the plot was a weak retread of the original movie.  I'd love to see them try something different.  I'd actually prefer they leave Luthor out of the next film, but if they have to work him in, I like how it was done with Doomsday.
