For those that do not know Sideshow toy makes a line of 1:4 scale premium format sculpts. These statues are meant for display purposes and are not pose able. The Luke Comic-Con statue depicts him watching the battle between Vader's Star Destroyer and the Tantive IV. This limited edition piece was obtainable only at Comic-Con or the Sideshow site and was limited to only 500 pieces. The sculpt of Luke's face is dead on. Sideshow really has the look of Luke down to a science now with all the other 12" figures that were made. Luke's face is painted in a multitude of different colors too, making the skin feel real. His eyes are also painted with extreme detail. The rest of the sculpture is perfect from his head to his toes. There is great detail in the clothes he is wearing and also the equipment that he is carrying. The hat, utility belt and binoculars are well built and painted. The binoculars are not removable from Luke's hands but that did not really bother me too much. The base that Luke is standing on is basically just made to look like sand but they do so perfectly without having it done via a cheap paint job.
I can not say it enough that this paint job is awesome. This is not some cheap job done in China. There is no over-painting at all that I could find.
The one complaint that I have is that the clothes that are usually put on these statues are a bit think and hard to manage. They really do not lie on the statue as well as I would have liked.
Overall this is a very nice display piece that anyone should be proud to display. Just make sure you have a place to store the massive box and a larger than normal shelfing unitl to put hom on.

Very nice review. Any pics of him all setup outside the box?
Great review.. looks like a good piece.. I liked the interesting angles of the photos, nice close ups. Do you have a photo of the statue out of package and complete?
Yes, my camera is making my life difficult atm though :).
Cool review, thanks, I have always wanted to hear more about the Premium Format pieces. Looks like you have a low editions number as well.
I'd also like to see him set up. I once had a 1/4 Dracula Premium format and it was an amazing piece. This looks to be equally fantastic.
