The month of September marks the 20th anniversary of the premiere of Star Trek The Next Generation.
I can't believe it's been twenty years.. man that makes me feel old.
But wow what a great twenty years. I have TNG to thank for bringing me into the Trek universe.
:cheers to Picard, Riker, Data, Worf, LaForge, Crusher and Troi :cheers
Yep, hard to believe 20 years has gone by now for TNG (and 41 for TOS). Here's a cool link with some anniversary dates and things for TNG. http://www.startrek.com/startrek/view/features/bst/article/2305803.html
I think towards the end of September I will do a special TNG podcast celebrating it's 20th anniversary. Probably the last Sunday of the month.
That would be very cool.. Rico.. I'll send some thoughts in on TNG.
This weeks issue of Entertainment Weekly Magazine has a pull out section celebrating the Star Trek TNG 20th Anniversary. Look for the issue featuring the new season of Heroes on the cover.
Hey Kenny, just a quick question, how do you send in your MP3s/thoughts?
Anyway, TNG is what got me hooked. Blame it on my mom cause she watched it on tapes a lot. Eventually, I started to like it and the movies we had. Then we started getting the DVDs and I was officially a trekkie geek.
Gotta love it.

I record them on Audacity (it's a free audio recording program) and then email them to Rico.
I will do the special TNG 20th Anniversary show on October 7th. Have an interview for the show coming up this weekend.
That sounds awesome Rico. I can't wait! It is my all time favorite. Maybe I'll make a poem in honor of TNG.
:)
I well remember when I lived in Salt Lake City and TNG began airing. I was a little apprehensive and yet excited that Roddenberry had the chance to bring more Trek to TV! Faithfully I tuned in every week and slowly but surly this new generation of Star Trek began to take hold and make me a fan. I can't say I was a solid fan during the first season but somewhere about the middle of season two things changed and the show got distinctly better and by the end of season three I was sold! I can't hardly believe that was twenty years ago! My how time flies! :flying
Three cheers for TNG! :cheers :cheers :cheers
Kevin
I was in junior high when this show premiered
hm...1987...wow. I was 6. Despite that I still remember watching encounter at farpoint. TNG was a weekend ritual at my house. Even my mom (who can't sit still for 5 minutes) would sit and watch.
I got the insert! It was pretty cool of EW to put this together. Looking forward to that Anniversary Show!

Wow.....20 years. Though I still remember not liking the Enterprise 'D' at first. I thought it was goofy looking....and I still don't like the v-neck uniforms....they vastly improved when they put collars on the uni's. But the characters were great and Q is prolly one of the best good/bad guys of all time.
Haha, I love the look on Picard's face when he says "engage." Classic. Almost as good as anytime he says "make it so."
Awesome vid. Cheers to TNG.
