Well, here I am on the last couple days of vacation sitting on my deck under the beautiful stars (listening to the Duffster's podcast) , getting bit by misquitoes.. but hey, it's cool....

as soon as we walked in, our camera was taken away from us. NO pictures in the galleries. More on that Later, Amy and I will do a report for the podcast.
Ok, the rest of the day we toured the Music Experience and then went to the Seattle Center. It was fun, the next day we went to the aquarium. Now that was pretty cool. Check out these cool fish pics.

Wow.. great pictures Rick.. love the entrance to the museum.. how cool is that.
Very cool Rick! Thanks for sharing. Catherine looks like she's having fun.:)
Great pics man! Some awesome fish. Any Trek related stuff inside that museum.
A whole floor dedicated to Trek!
It was so cool. Uniforms, props, ships, tons of stuff. The weapons were cool too. More to come on that.
I think my favorite part was Captain Kirks Chair. It was in a case with some uniforms and other things, and the Enterprise signed by the cast... here is what I found on the net of that case, with Sulu sitting in the chair!
There were some amazing displays. Everything was done very professional and I thought of Duffster often, because there were so many books on display with information on the authors. Pretty cool.
here are some other pics I found of what we saw...
and a couple more
Wow, sounds pretty cool, to bad you are not allowed to take pictures. I guess I will just have to go myself some day :)
Well, if any of you every come to the Northwest, lunch is on me at the Music Experience. I'll come up and meet you and go through the museum! It's only a couple of hours from my house. It would be really fun to see all the stuff together. I thought of everyone many times as different displays reminded me of something you had posted or talked about on the podcast.
Jeff- You would have loved the R2D2 and the big Death Star they had there, plus they had Luke's severed hand and lightsaber, that was VERY cool.
Sounds Cool Rick, definitely would be cool to see with you, Seattle is pretty doable for me as it is on the west coast, and not to far of a Journey for me. Just from looking at the pictures from outside, it looks really exciting. Really looking forward to hearing about your review on upcoming Podcast.
It's funny, I live in Spokane, Wa and I was in Seattle not 3 months ago. With all the kids (we were with another family also) we did not get the oppurtunity to go in the Sci-Fi museum. Both my wife and I were bummed and promised ourselves that we would go next time we were there sans children. I was actually disappointed with the aquarium, it just did not seem like enough compared to some of the others I have visited in my life.
Next time we get set to visit Seattle thought I will defintely let ya know Rick
Now I know where I have seen this place before. I think Starlog magazine did an article on it a few years back. I recognize some of the inside stuff now. Very cool.
WOW!!! That looks so cool. I can't wait to hear your report Rick. :)
Thanks Rick
That is a photoshop Sulu...right?
QuoteEverything was done very professional and I thought of Duffster often, because there were so many books on display with information on the authors. Pretty cool.
I thought that was one of the coolest things about the the museum. Duffster would have loved it. There were a lot of recommended books for each particular sub-genre or theme. Some of the books are decades old and some only a few which I thought was great.
I also liked the fact that the museum had a lot of material on Blade Runner. It also had a 5 or 6 ft. model of the Enterprise D and DS9.
However, what I didn't like was that we couldn't take pictures. They let us take flash-less pictures at the aquarium--why couldn't they allow us to do the same thing at the museum?

Cool. :metallica: I'll be going up to Seattle again in about a year. Hope to see you there.

That is a picture of when George was actually there. I didn't take that photo. So nope, it's not photoshopped.

Just let me know and if I can be there, lunch is on me!
I could come to....babysitting for 40 bucks (well that's the usual end result) will surly send me to scotlan- I mean Washington!
Amy, Catherine and I are going to be coming to Hawaii in March or April. What Island do you live on?
Oahu the state capitol! If you go to Maui then I have a perfect place to stay but there is almost no tech there (waaaaa he-he) so yeah if you want basic cable and no internet go to Hana Maui and if we play accordingly we can be neighbors!
Hey Rick. Great Photos. Looks like you guys had a great time. If I'm ever in the area, I'll be sure to make some time for the museum. Thanks for sharing.
