Up for preorder this week. I am very tempted. Here are the details:
This is the third and final Mark Hamill Signature in the set. You have the Star Wars: A New Hope Signature and the Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back Signature now complete the set with the Star Wars: Return of The Jedi Signature Lightsaber.
Luke Skywalker's heroic journey to become a Jedi Master reached its climax when he confronted Darth Vader and his evil master, Emperor Palpatine, on the second Death Star. Palpatine had hopes to seduce the son of Skywalker to the dark side of the Force, believing Luke would give in to temptation, kill his father, and take his place at the twisted Emperor's side.
Facing off in an epic lightsaber duel, Darth Vader encountered a fierce opponent in his son. Fighting to protect his sister and everything he held true, Luke's ferocity surprised the Dark Lord. Filled with rage, Luke came close to embracing the dark side, almost killing his father. Due to the Jedi training he learned from Yoda, he was able to avoid the path of Anakin Skywalker. Tossing his lightsaber aside, he turned to face the wrath of the enraged Sith Emperor.
The lightsaber Luke Skywalker wields in the Return of the Jedi has a long and complicated history. The hilt worn by actor Mark Hamill, in most of the scenes in the movie where the lightsaber is not ignited, was in fact an old Obi-Wan Kenobi "stunt" lightsaber from A New Hope. The blade was cut off and it featured a longer lever on the center band, a conical knob on the rear above the pommel, and a D-ring attached the lightsaber to a belt clip. Cast in aluminum from a milled wooden master, this lightsaber features uneven heat sink fins which we have recreated in the interest of accuracy.
For the fighting scenes, a newly machined, but more simplified look-alike version of the above lightsaber was created with a removable blade. A cleaned up version of this lightsaber was used for the close-up insert shot when Darth Vader comments on Luke constructing a new lightsaber. This became known as the "hero" version of the prop because it was featured so prominently in a close-up. The "Version Two" of the prop was altered in post-production to look more like the "hero" lightsaber, possibly in interest of continuity.
Master Replicas engineers modeled this faithful replica directly from measurements taken from the surviving prop, and recreated the look from the movie with the help of extensive photographic reference materials supplied from the Lucasfilm Ltd. Archives.
We hope that you enjoy adding this Luke Skywalker lightsaber "Version Two" from Return of the Jedi to your Star Wars prop collection.

I think I will pass on this one, I looking into the limited edition spiderman masks as they look kind of cool
I love the V2, it's my favorite behind the ANH. This saber saw the most screen time in ROTJ but never got that one beauty shot in Vader's hands where we see the hero version everyone is more familiar with. This one looks nice and beat up and is more in keeping with the OT look.
It is a pretty cool piece and MR usually does a good job on the sabers.
Yep, but nothing can beat a real Graflex Luke ANH..

True 'dat!
You mean like this?
Cool Saber Bryan.
I saw the MR Luke preorder, and I am awfully tempted but will probably pass. I am actually considering picking up the Han Solo Elite Blaster, since it is 40 percent off. Still mulling it over, so part of me hopes they all get sold so I dont have to make the decision anymore.

I broke down and ordered this Blaster, could not help myself :). Fortunately (Or Unfortunately) I am working a whole bunch of OT lately, so that should cover this off.
Darn it Jeff! I must of missed that little code. Oh - that's very hard to pass up even though I have the non-elite version of the blaster.
P.S. I placed an order for the V2 Luke today too.
